28: 53 I learned to think of positive and negative energy, as 2 different types of currency as in, positive energy is like gold coins and negative energy as silver coins if the inside has + 5, that is like 5 gold coins and the outside has +15, so 15 gold coins the inside has +5, which is 10 less positive energy ( or 10 less gold coins) the outside is "richer" in positive energy the inside of the cell has fewer "gold coins" or quantity of positive energy
Professor I have a question: You said the last part of threshold potential is reached by calcium but in my text book it says that the "HCN channels" that are activated due to hyperpolaristion, and doesn't mention the Ca2+ ions. Is this new research? because this video is quite old.
Hello @goharkan2627 thank you for your question. The HCN channels are what I’ve referred to as “funny” channels. Hyperpolarization-activated cyclic nucleotide-gated (HCN) channels are responsible for the pacemaker activity.
