I like Lisa, but her use of backing tracks and lack of live vocal strength could be an issue in the U.S., where strong singers are expected. I’m not sure she’ll have lasting success here.
This is really turning into a problem during her performances. I've mentioned this before, international public aren't gonna be cool with the playback, especially when the track is so loud they can't even tell the difference. Hopefully, Lisa drops this habit.
If you got an issue with backtrack let's talk about the other artists that also use backtracks, that including ALL other artists too, including kpop. People are just picking on her because, currently she is a hot topic and most popular. It is truly hypocrisy. 98.9% of the critics know NOTHING what goes on during stage performances, and the fact a live performance will never equate to a studio song. You have the artist, dancing, moving from point A to point B and you want them to sound like the studio recording? Give me a break. I want to see them haters and whiners try that. If you want to listen to studio track then just stay and listen to it on your headphones.

agree u have to adjust to ur new surroundings instead of taking the old habits from kpop performances. overall i found the vmas kinda bland even the west english performances were just typical maybe cause its all pop with the odd korean act? its not actual variety anymore and i dont see acts like avril lavigne or greenday kicking about these shows either which would add variation at the very least draw different age groups otherwise it feels like they still trying to pull certain age range who only follow xyz idol for xyz music style then they dont do much else with their performances. i mean coachella was their best that theyve offered and i really do love blackpink members but sometimes lisa / other members gives in some areas and still lacks in others whilst only showing not much she could bring to her performances, samey dance style samey backing track being relied on and in coachella she really belted out the name coachella so why she not do that at vmas? it just tends to fall flat when they bring kpop to west and try to do west without actually doing much new additions to it
You're right, there are still some performances that feel like a variety show. I'm glad many locals liked it, but I know the girls can do better than this. I guess with time, they'll adapt more to the international audience.
@@alltoopink exactly thats what sucks about loving the members is i feel that they could do so much more but are limited to certain lacklustre ways. i also feel that blackpink maybe lacked a few extra members? other groups who have leaders seem to put on better quality performances not that blackpink havent just that over recent years and tours people have only pointed out what things blackpink members keep lacking in and dont get me wrong lisa has amazing dance skills her stage presence is the best out of all members, so why she didnt go all out baffles me.
I agree with everything you said. I do have an unpopular opinion about Jisoo to add though: While she is my bias and I love her voice, she clearly isn't as passionate about music or at least about performing as the other members. It kind of makes me sad, but I don't expect new solo music from her anytime soon.
@@alltoopink but then shes only added for personality factors and again it make blackpink look like influencers than serious genuine performers. they also didnt have leader nor producer in their own group so that kinda failed them hard, if u look at groups who have producers and leaders they tend to fair better and longer success even internationally ie: skz, ateez for example. blackpink imho couldve done with a few extra members and wth was going on in their past tours? it looked like they didnt want to be there some times they just doing whatever so they can cash in and go home.
I mean ,Lisa doesn't sing at all ,but raps ,but blinks always go "She's singing her mic Is ON!!" She needs to learn to sing if she still wants to be an artist ,she doesn't even try to sing . New women is a good song , atleast for me ,but her singing is HEAVILY autotuned it's so noticeable,now I'm not against autotune ,but it seems clear that without autotune ,Lisa rarely sings . especially high notes .
it feels like a waste of her potential or blackpinks potential i should say especislly when im following younger newer groups who seem to have that ability and creativity in them, the difference is quite strinkingly obvious that the girls didnt have much creative abilities outside of what they know, not that cant show more but they havent really shown much more. does this make sense? indont hate them as idols and as people theyre probably some of the nicer idols there is in that age group, just that they seem to have let it go to waste and i think the same outcome will be for newjeans as well
As a blink, I'm honestly disappointed by our girls. Their new songs seem rather underwhelming. Lisa, who was my bias, doesn't dance or sing anymore. She only uses backing track and twerks in performances. Money and LALISA were rhythmic and the rap always had a flow, but now her songs are 90% autotune and no dancing/singing. And Chaesoo is doing nothing. Initially I expected Jennie to be the more laidback member but now everyone else is slacking off.
Rose literally just confirmed to be releasing a solo album, Jisoo is starring in an upcoming drama, and Jennie probably has the most going on right now. She's starred in a variety show (soon to be two), Done a collab with Zico, AND on top of that she's also releasing a single and solo album in October. I wouldn't say they're "doing nothing".
It's amazing how she's didn't provide much statement bout Vienna but was able to release versions of TTPD recently to block Kanye. I guess business matters more to her.
that release was clearly scheduled, and she didn't promote it on her Instagram like she did with the previous versions. So it was just bad timing. Still, predictions indicate that Kanye will drop several spots next week, and TTPD will continue to hold the top positions. 🤷♀️
