In the summer of 1994, I got a VCR for my birthday. For the next several years, I would record various sporting events (especially hockey games), TV specials and music videos - recently, I've unearthed a vast amount of these VHS tapes, so my plan is to upload any clips that I find interesting (and that may not already be on RU-vid).

"Hollywood wannabe, Mae West." Ha! Hardly. Mae West was a household name long before her film career. She arrived in Hollywood at age 39 and immediately took charge. Her first starring vehicle was up for an Academy Award it did so well.

Edith Head gave good ........ Wardrobe ! On a wall at Potts Point , Sydney , Australia. Was that payback for stealing Aussie Orry Kellys clients when he went on a binge ?

I think Mario's short-handed goal on Casey was detailed in Sports Illustrated, with Casey basically saying its a sick feeling when Mario knows he's going to score, and you (Casey) knows he's going to score, and the wait until he scores is like death.

ESPN used to do such a great job with hockey. Top notch video quality for the time and great analysts...and of course Gary Thorne's powerful voice and Clement providing commentary.

yes he was dirty, BUT Claude Lemieux is one of the best playoff players in history… he won a cup with Montreal in 1986, then he wins the cup with New Jersey in 1995(Conn Smythe too), then the following year he goes to Colorado to immediately win a cup with them in 1996, then comes back to the Devils to win a 2nd cup w/ them in 2000… and he always scored clutch goals as well… he also was a very hard worker and would most of the time eliminate the top scorer on the opposing team… he was the definition of a winner.

Hurt like hell to see and remember it... Until now when the FLORIDA PANTHERS finally have their franchise name on the greatest trophy in all of sports. I only wish the 2024 Stanley Cup Final was against Colorado, just to complete the journey.

Elia Kazan had a lot of nerve saying that Vivien Leigh wasn't a "great talent ". He had a lot of nerve. She had natural raw talent.. She had death as an actor and her performances looked real and not acted. And I suppose with Kazan. A stage durectie he was more accustomed to working with actors that looked like they were actor. And Ms. Leigh's performances leaned .more toward realism and film acting. toward

Tournament was bittersweet because you knew that NHL hockey was not coming back for a bit and both the PA and owners were going to dig their heels in. I was 19 at the time. The next high level competition tournament was the IIHF world championship in May. 2005 was a year where I enjoyed Major Junior hockey, specifically the London Knights who steamrolled everyone and won the Memorial cup, beating then phenom Sydney Crosby along their journey. It wasn't like good/exciting hockey wasn't there to be watched. I recall, Bettman gave the players a better offer had they settled months earlier (higher cap, more revenue share) and they declined. The league is now more profitable than ever, with salaries still high. Who lost out? Fans pay more for tickets, and top megastars make peanuts compared to their competition from baseball and Basketball (Mckinnon only make 16 million in 2024 when in 2004 Jagr made 11).

ironic that you used claudette colbert’s photo in the thumbnail. despite what the narrator said, she was NOT an edith fan and referred to her as “the art student”. she would borrow other designers from other studios, especially irene, so as not to work with ms. head, who’s skills she did not respect.

Hull should be 2nd on all time goals list.. not 5th… he played alot less games than Ovechkin, Jagr, and Howe…. he should only be behind Gretzky… he is the greatest pure goal scorer of all time
