Adventure is out there! My name is Julie and my channel is dedicated to exploring places and sharing my experiences. I consider my youtube channel to be my version of an adventure book. Great fishing content very well done fished for smallmouth in the Kankakee river for decades but never the DuPage river but that area looks so peaceful and beautiful I'll have to give it a try Hope you two are taking precautions about sun exposure and protecting your skin I did not in my youth and as a younger man and got many bad sun burns and now I'm over 50 Im having to have suspect skin growths surgically removed several times a year as a result of not adequately protecting my skin from over exposure to the sun's harmful rays Again hope you both are protecting your exposed skin from sun burn
This area really is a nice serene spot to fish! We have caught some nice sized fish on the DuPage River. We will have to check out the Kankakee River again, we haven’t been there in a few years! We definitely have been taking more precautions lately. We were not always the best, but for the past year we have become much more serious about protecting against the sun! Great video. Please tell me this. I have knee issues and going up and down stairs is a problem with me. Does this resort have facilities in place (elevators, ramps, golf carts etc) to help me get everywhere I might want to go? (ie: from room to restaurants, beach, pool etc..) Thanks so much, Steve S.
Hello! Thank you for watching! The hotel did have elevators through the different wings of the hotel. I do also remember seeing ramps as well. I am not aware of whether or not they had golf carts available, I think you should check directly with the hotel on this. I do recall the elevator for the parking garage of the hotel having issues, so keep this in mind! We had to go down several flights of stairs with luggage in the parking garage. They may have fixed this problem by now though.
Bland hotel. Great beach. Everything about the hotel was underwhelming. Facilities, service, entertainment, food options, public spaces, even the landscaping. Over priced. Felt like they have become complacent because of the brand, location and tourists willing to over pay. There are better hotels. Needs investment.
Thank you for sharing and watching the video. We had good service while we were there, but I do feel that some things felt out dated. With that said, I would still stay here again; the location and the beach were excellent. Was there a different hotel at the same price point you felt was better?
I can’t recall at the moment, this stay was awhile ago and the price fluctuates based on what month and which days of the week you visit on. For this stay we rented Disney vacation club points through a company called David’s Vacation Club Rentals. I remeber they had a great cost calculator where they had the cost for each day by room category. I think other DVC rental company’s will have a cost calculator as well! Thank you for watching!
I have been to the Hawaiian Islands three times and of all the resorts I visited either on Kauai Oahu or Maui the Sheraton Maui is the most Spectacular. Other resorts I stayed at were beautiful but none of them have the location and setting of this hotel!
I honestly have to agree. We stayed at the same islands you listed. We loved the resorts we had picked for each island, but there was just something special about the Sheraton Maui. I feel like the location and vibe just can’t be beat! Thanks for watching! 😊
@@jenniferyi9034 I was nervous beforehand but I personally felt safe. Everyone has different comfort limits. While this was one of my favorite life experiences, someone else may not enjoy it as much and that’s okay. There are so many ways to enjoy Hawaii, this is just one of them. 😊
For our tour, we did share the helicopter. We did not know any of the other passengers. If your group is large enough, you can essentially fill the helicopter. If you have a smaller group but want the helicopter to yourself, you can book a private helicopter tour but it would be more costly. Thanks for watching!

I have an iphone, but I left it in my backpack so it did no go with me on the tubing adventure. I filmed this video on a GoPro mounted on a float handle with a wrist strap. Jesse has a pixel phone and he brought his phone in his zippered pocket of his swim trunks. He put his phone in a zip lock bag and that worked fine for him.
One spot that good to sit is the Pig & Whistle Tavern. It's close to the food area. If someone is performing, you have entertainment. If no one is performing, you have room. Win win.
What was the name of this particular helicopter tour company? My hubby and I are treating our kids and grandkids with a trip there in jan 2025. They would love this paricular tour. 16 years ago we did a helicopter ride over Molakai when we were in Maui but this time checking out Kauai. They would love this!! Grandkids are ages 9, 10, 12, 13. Never been on a helicopter and this would be a treat for a lifetime. They love Jurassic Park movies, too!!

When we went, they were the only company who were allowed to land at the falls. My husband and I are big Jurassic park fans as well and this is one of our favorite life experiences together.
