Just purchased the Snr035, the rotor sounds quite loud, did you experience this in your review, is this normal for a spring drive. It's louder than my £500 - £800 Seikos. I wasn't expecting that for £2475.
Why use all these "great parts", "superb engineering" and "craftmanship up there with the big boys" to make a COPY of the Rolex Submariner!? With resources such as these it shouldn't be difficult for Ginault to come up with an original design! You'll wear this, and people will constantly ask: "Is it a real or a fake Rolex?" As it has about a whole page of James Joyce's "Ulysses" on the dial - it will be recognized as fake rather quickly
This is for people who love the Rolex design language but don't want to pay 5-10x the money for a watch. They also appreciate a quality product and do not support fakes. There are also many Ginault buyers who would buy a Rolex if Rolex allowed them too. They are against buying in the grey market. For them they will wait on the wait list for 2-5 years and in the meantime the Ginault will get the call!
It’s a great watch at a great price. Ticks all the boxes. I don’t care that it has the hardlex instead of Sapphire. The watch punches way above its price division. Looks great to wear casually and great with a business suit on.
Excellent review and one main reason for that is you made an effort to give the weight of the watch which is an integral part of the watch's specs. Lots of the reviewers don't do that extra bit. Thanks.
Picked up a MaMaCoo's watch as my first watch last month and I’m absolutely in love with it. Perfect size, looks elegant, very comfortable. Now my only problem is holding off from buying more watches so quickly!
4:14 Hardlex is not as scratch resistant, but it is more shatterproof. It is the ideal crystal of choice for a tool watch; something that a lot of watch guys tend to overlook. I’d be more disappointed if Hardlex was on their Presage models instead of Sapphire. Oh wait…
@@EscapementWatch ok, but doesn't look the same on other divers; with rectangular indices... I haven't seen in person tho so I'll take ur word for it... I notice rough edges in all videos so far
Yeah the top coat is cracking. Other pressed divers they use say a sunray dial which doesn't seem to crack. But this is just a guess from my examining. I could be way off.
GREAT video. I watched it at least twice. Question: is it nicer to get it perfectly symmetrical and no date OR is it better and worth it to get the magnified date version? I like both looks and don't know HOW to decide. I'm sure if I actually tried on both, I would be able to know which one I liked more, but that doesn't seem possible. Thanks
Let's see. Smaller, nah. No sapphire, nah. Aluminum bezel insert, nah. Ugly rehaut. Nothing about this model is better. Doesn't even look like a Samurai anymore. 🤦
These seiko sports 5 are all made in china and none of these have Japanese movements 😢 they just made the line more cheaper but the at the cost of their authenticity
I bought the black dialed Sous Marine on the FKM Viton strap, having heard mixed reviews, I went with the rubber instead. This is a "just right watch" and I find the accuracy of the in house movement quite accurate, on par with Ebolore SW-200s if not slightly better.
Review footage here and 'just one more watch'' suggests there is a glare-fuzz effect. The original samura was glare free. Could someone please comment on this with some data? Many thanks for great review.
Preferred the old bezel, would have enjoyed brushed ceramic. If they'll get the new movement in there with sapphire and their super-hard coating i'd love it around the price-point of the new MAS. Edit: You just reminded me of the Erebus Origin and i ordered a black one 😅
Not everything needs to be ceramic, Hardlex takes knocks better than sapphire so it won't shatter in a dive which is the watches purpose as a cheap dive watch.
@@PepRex Hardlex cheeper, aluminum cheeper and your paying the same as a King. The date window is ridiculous,no chapter ring. I'll give you the lugs, they do look better
@@ivanmirones9220 I like the stainless steel rehaut. It's what Omega does, It's what Rolex does. Date window is a preference thing, It's better than a cyclops at 3. Hardlex is what 5 dollars cheaper than sapphire? I don't think they do it for the profits. It's anodised aluminium. It has a look you don't get via ceramic.
Seiko Samurai is Junk. Have 2 of them, one black with rubber strap, the other the PADI pepsi model. Both are JUNK and been in for repairs several times. Neither keeps time with acceptable accuracy and the black one flooded the first time I had it in the the ocean...this is a 300M dive watch. Don't buy Seiko products!
This is great review for my pre-purchase research. Your info is from authentic in-hand observation. And you cover the same issues I consider before buying!
Thank you for your suggestion about moving the watch around. I’ve demagnetised dozens of watches without a problem, but a new Seagull st1902 would not demagnetise today using my normal action. Using your suggestion to move the watch case around solved the issue and its now demagnetised.
I prefer the older king samurai, with a more robust look. The new version can be a good solution for those who do not want such a voluptuous watch, but certainly losing a bit of personality.
Re inventing the already iconic design is not a smart move. People buy samurai because it is uniquely a samurai or else we will just opt for other model....
