Is it a mixing or mastering plugin? If I’m mixing a track do I just throw the plugin on the master chain and bounce and send it off to the mastering engineer or would the mastering engineer not prefer that? Because I hear everyone refer to it as a mixing plugin but it has a limiter on it and saturates the entire mix which is what is usually done in the mastering stage so I just don’t know if someone using this plugin in the mixing stage should leave some headroom the the mastering engineer. Plz help! Thank you.
Again!!! Killing me with the Demi vocals!!! Yes!! Keep em comin! Woman's got power like no other!!! It's gotta be a dream to get to recreate an original using learned techniques!
More Demi Vocals PLEASE!!! My cup is never full when it comes to her vocals!! She is absolute fire and my daily inspiration to learn everything music! To just share studio space with her would be an absolute dream come true!!! 😍 Love the work you do my man! They say learn from the best & I'm here to learn!!!!
playlist are like mixtapes or mix cds we would make, either you listen to those while doing multiple task like cleaning, working, driving etc, eventually you just want to put on a good album and relax in one place. 2 different listening experiences
I saw that you also produced "fire burns" by nicki minaj. I'm obsessed with this song so much , i know it few months ago and now I'm obsessed and it makes me feel like I'm in the early 2010s. Just wanted to thank you for it after all this years ❤️
I prefer albums still. The Netflix analogy isn't necessarily applicable here. I listen to albums over and over and over for years, hell decades. A Netflix show I probably would not watch again once completed the first time.
Hi!Thank you for the knowledge man, you are real professional! I have 3 questions. Why you recording drums in stereo? I knew that all instruments especially drums are mono, piano is stereo only.My second question is you records audio full dry all the time, or put some effects like gate or compressors on it? My last question is, what is your gain level on the software instrumental when you record to audio? I know you are a pro and not a YT producer, but You can make a video about these questions. Peace! ✌
Man, no hate but every day I pray and pray that Demi stops working with you, at least for her rock music, if not r&b. This boxy, muddy sound with the autotune… is unbearable. It’s insane how you take Demi’s crystal clear voice and make it everything but, each fckin time… The writing and vocals of Holy Fvck were nothing but extremely good and yet the whole album got floored by a single song with Mike Shinoda that will never be sung live. And Revamped is fun to listen to only when it’s live and that’s only thanks to Demi…….
From an older person, this is a sad way to look at things (maybe it'sthe era). If there is an artist that has a great song that is meaningful to you, listen to the whole album. I can't count how many times I purchased the album based on a single. Listen to the whole album, maybe put it away shortly, come back to it. 90% of the time I found 3 or 4 songs that are better than the single that nobody nows about.
As a younger person, I still listen to albums IF the album was intended to be a cohesive work. A lot of modern albums, especially pop, have a tendency to really just be a collection of the most recent songs by an artist. That being said, when you have a concept album, or something with a theme throughout, or a narrative, I think that’s a beautiful way to create music that many people today still appreciate. Good insight on your part though, and thanks for getting me thinking about music!
It’s definitely subjective, and I agree on catering to the artist - however you have producers like Metro Boomin, DJ Mustard, Mike Will, Tay Keith, TnTXD, - all who have/had signature sounds and are not artists. Most prominently for “most” of them - it’s their drum samples/bounce/swing (Even with Timbaland and Pharrell). For others it’s their choice in the sound they choose, and how they compose the melody using it (DJ Mustard old sound & Mike Dean’s sound with Travis for example). This is why two different individuals can play the same instrument and sound remotely different - it’s not what they, it’s how they play it. The way you mix can also play a part. My cousin and I share sounds/similar drum bounce and we use the same drum samples - but we mix different (our master usually - everything else is just selective eq/leveling) His sound is different than mine - even when we dabble outside of genres like Trap into Pop, Afrobeats etc. and we use the same DAW. A lot of factors play into creating a sound and if it happens, it’s natural. It’s the essence of who you are and how you execute/express that. Not everyone has it and not everyone needs to, that’s what makes us unique. Keep making great music!!
Oak!! you're the man for taking the time to share and spread your knowledge. I do agree with the others about the screen size though (It's very hard to see what's going on) so maybe instead have Logic Pro full screen and have a tiny box of your screen in the top left/right corner? otherwise it's perfect! Can't thank you enough for making these.
