$200 is a strong pill to take, BUT the only other option is rip and replace! Knowing what I know about electronics I am sure this cable was not easy to reproduce.

The video shows a plug to connect to a socket on the circuit board but the link goes to a part which does not have the plug. Which is supplied? If it is the part without the plug, how is the connection intended to be made?

Hey Mike. I know its hard to see in our photos because there is a white background, but if you look closely there is a white plug on the end of the cable that goes into the socket on the VHF handset PCB. If you have any further questions or would like a better photo, please contact us: "Info@maxmarineelectronics.com"

Do you know if the 215e (with the more elongated handset (minimum function)) uses the same cable?

Would this procedure be similar for the link 5?

$199.00 for a replacement cable. What a joke! How do you sleep at night?

Hey William, Sorry to hear you feel this isn't a fair price. I completely understand - It's just a cable. However, we aren't really selling just a cable. This cable is no longer made or supported. We have had to source connectors, pins, a locking connector, and a multi conductor coiled cable. We then have to 3D print the strain relief that someone painstakingly spent hours designing, getting just right so that it fits properly. Another technician has to crimp very small pins on to the ends of the conductors, and then insert those into little connectors. The other end the conductors have to soldered to the locking connector. The strain relief has to be inserted onto the cable and glued. Once the glue cures, we have to install the cable on a hand mic and then test it completely to make sure all functions are working and none of the wires have a short. This takes hours to do, and that is why it is so costly. Hope that makes some sense of it. Thanks!

Hi Patricia, After you turn on the unit, press power/Brill, and use the rotary knob to adjust the brightness. And make sure hue is set to day mode. If not you may have an issue with your backlight. Hope that helps! If you need more help, call us at 754-220-6565 - Em

A Ray 230 mic cable would be appreciated by a lot too I think.

We have evaluated the feasibility of making a cable for the 230. Unfortunately, the 230 is different than other microphones and uses a cable that is integrated into the active speaker and the system harness itself using a potted junction assembly - in short we would love to do it, certainly could do it, but it wouldn't be cost effective as the cost of the finished cable assembly would be more than a new radio.
