According to sharks happen with a guy named Hal your great white shark was after your board, not u and this is a territorial attack. I call bs on that theory and I believe when a great white shark hits a surfer with a hard hitting impact bite, you’re just lucky if the shark gets your board and not u. Just lucky or you’ve got an angel but definitely there aren’t a bunch of sharks out there mad at surfboards as Hal in sharks happen is always suggesting.
It's amazing how failing schools believe that the kids "don't want an education" yet there's 10,000 applications each year for this school. WY is the most selective high school, the #1 spot goes to staton in Jacksonville FL where it's basically nothing but AP courses from 9-12 grades. Most don't want to go to staton because it's not offering much of anything other than locking kids in the library. WY looks more like a regular high school but with far more $ and better staff and when compared to the rest of Chicago public schools it's no wonder there's so much competition. In Jacksonville we also have Paxon which ranks nationally in the top 3-5 high schools nationally so if you don't get into staton there's still Paxon.
This guy is ignoring how very ancient symbols such as within the Kaballah and astrology fit so perfectly with the Tarot deck. I guess he went back in time to the original card readers to know for certain.
"The connection between the Tarot and the Kabalah - nonsense. The connection between Astrology and the Tarot - made-up. The Tarot came from Egypt - that's nonsense." With these lines. I'm sold.
Clearly the same wisdom within aspects of Kaballah and astrology are part of the same wisdom that created the tarot decks. It is pretty obvious. If it is a coincidence, hey it still fits almost perfectly, but I would not ignore this.
Trying to promote a movie? Bait the water for a shark. Then throw your board out there and get the shark to bite it. Makes for good advertising for your movie?!
I had a friend in College, he was a surfer from South Africa. He told me that one time he paddle right out with a couple of other surfers, whilst waiting for a decent swell, a huge dorsal fin appeared only a metre to the left of him. He said it silently just appeared beside him and 6 or 7 ft behind its dorsal was its tail fin. It travelled silently past him then slowly disappeared below the surface about 15 metres away. I don't know how I would have reacted (probably sprinted across the surface of the water back to dry land) Him and the other guys stayed calm and caught the next swell back in as that was quicker and less risk than trying to paddle back in a mass panic 🦈🏄🏻♂️
I wish I could watch this 😭 it’s not possible to watch it in Norway 😭 I even tried with VPN and still not possible, because my payment method is registered to my address 😓😓😓
Dumbass-- doesn't know, under laws, cannot say: "Shark attack!" Nets! US Coast Guard! Dumbass that says: "Hawaii = Japanese for: surfboard and, they is, all gay!"
Polaris attack! So fortunate to be doing a handstand when the monster chomped down on his board. Had his torso been there I highly doubt he'd have survived that far from shore. I'd have cleaned the sht out of my wet suit and hit the 7/11 for some lottery tickets. Saw a wetsuit infused with an electrical device, when he hit the button the white shark headed towards him veered away and disappeared. Surprised all surfers, abalone divers and spear fisherman aren't wearing these.
Is this even realistic? How do you have a whites only club in a predominantly black country and a mixed race girl is an issue? I think I need a history lesson on the Bahamas.
Someone I knew wasn’t as lucky as this guy. He was killed in Moro Bay, not far from where this guy got hit. www.nytimes.com/1981/12/25/us/man-s-body-found-off-the-coast-wound-suggests-a-shark-attack.html
This is one of the best tarot documentaries because it teaches about the art of divination which is probably the most difficult thing about the tarot, the language of birds...
If surfers take anything from this.... its this-if the seals are staying(hiding) in the shallows there may be a VERY good reason. Awareness of your surroundings is key.
Jeez what a massive bite!!! What the hell do you do after an attack like that? Just paddle back in to shore and hope he doesn’t attack again or something else?... I’d be frozen in fear
Lol I'd insist on a boat accompaniment when the break is that far from shore In white shark infested waters. Would be horrifying to get hit like that, escape unscathed....then have to paddle a long ass distance back to shore knowing every splash can bring the shark back! NFW.
@@imarriedabrkfsttaco3737 "white shark infested waters"??? Your comment is extremely subjective with no absolute proof that just because he got hit by a white pointer, doesn't mean that that area was infested with numerous white pointers. My point is that you're adding to his situation your subjective opinion, without any objective facts. This is how false narratives start and put a whole negative connotation towards white pointers. Perhaps it was just one white pointer which went for him. Either way, he wasn't hit again by the white pointer or as you described a infested amount of white pointers going after him. I say this, so you can ponder and learn from this, not come back at me with a defensive argument or self justifying answer. Too many people do that.
It seems to me that a guy learnt one system and one system alone at some point in his life, and everything else he just disregards because he refuses to see further connections or he just doesn't feel like it. If he had learnt with another system, he would be saying the same. This narrow mindedness throws me off and makes me want to skip the film entirely. Why would I listen to a guy with such a limited view on the Tarot (and life). The analogy of the bones is very cool. Now expand the analogy to consider a system of correspondences between practices and cultures and you get an entire universe you can explore. No one claims it's the absolute truth, but why deny it all by calling it nonsense. I mean everybody is entitled to an opinion. But calling it nonsense is foolish. Limiting the reach of knowledge is foolish. I don't want to learn from fools.
Absolutely . I saw the doc and whilst I did like it and learn from it I really despised his take on the Kabbalah, astrology and all that connection to the tarot being nonsense. It translates as " I never bothered to learn it because it's damn hard so yeah, it's rubbish and don't learn it so you won't be able to catch me on my own bs ". I'm not a Kabbalah expert or anywhere near but the little I know in connection with the tarot is so enlightening and beautiful and perfect that I couldn't ever accept someone dismissing it. The tarot is vast enough to have many different takes on it but that's not the one to have
He is not saying there are no other systems of tarot. He is talking about the origin of tarot and how it developed. He is factually correct that adding in connections to the Kabbalah and astrology came much later. That is not “his take”. It’s a fact. Also those here who merely watched the trailer and are offended, with already made up minds, are the inflexible ones who are intolerant of any opinion but their own. I would also say they likely do not read the Marseilles deck except to transpose the modern RWS system on top of it. I have actually seen the documentary and love his unique relationship he has with the cards. It inspires me to also try to incorporate some of his techniques.
@@grannyweatherwax8005 Unless you have a time machine, you cannot be factually correct of the origin of the Tarot cards, and to ignore how it can express aspects of Kabalah and astrology and ancient wisdom is ignoring something quite important.
@@grannyweatherwax8005 He is talking about the origin of tarot and how it developed. He is factually correct that adding in connections to the Kabbalah and astrology came much later. That is not “his take”. It’s a fact. Indeed. It is important to acknowledge that the esoteric symbolism in the original tarot was not some deliberate encoding of ancient wisdom but was more a product of the popular Renaissance culture of the time, which the artists drew on because it would be recognized. That is basically the exact opposite of encoding some arcane, esoteric knowledge into the cards. Indeed the happenstance is demonstrated by the lack of analogy between the original tarot archetypes and the Hebrew letters, such that occultists had to squibble insolently over the correct Kabbalistic and other attributions. To correct this, occultists have often added cards to the deck. The Golden Dawn magical tarot has two Fools. The Thoth tarot has 3 Magician cards etc...The first initiatory deck has been credited to a 19th century Swiss occultist called Oswald Wirth.
I am a proud WYHS graduate c/o '87. I'm very proud that the legacy continues. As of 2020, WYHS ranks # 4 high school in the city/metro area according to US World News Report April 2020. My prayer is that more AA are enrolled. Their numbers have considerably dwindled since the early 90s but their numbers are better than much of the city other comparable high schools. Keep up the good work WYHS! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Great reflective piece! Pretty sure this was a part of Whipped! from Powerline Productions! Definitely worth a look! Love the cliff perspective as well!
