This is great, curious if anyone is aware of a video showing how to make stamping plates? I made one side with extruded text but want to make another plate with text cut in, i mirrored second plate but cannot for life of me figure out how have mirrored text cut in, make sense?
Great question! I don't have a video specific to this, but you should be able to create an extrusion with your text, then select remove and have it cut into the material rather than add material on top. Does that make sense? Something like what's shown in this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Yc8Yy1Vdjbc.html
Thanks for reaching out! I do not have a step by step guide for this project series, but that is something I would be happy to create through my tutoring program. If you would like, feel free to reach out via www.mrerdreich.com/tutoring
after clicking a second time (first to start drawing the circle at a midpoint, second to place the circle), the dimension box should appear. You then should be able to just start typing a number in using your keyboard, you don't need to click again to start to type. This would start drawing another circle.
Thanks for watching, and thanks for the feedback! Some users find I move slow at times, and some find I go to quickly, and this of course is natural when I have such a wide range of users watching my content. Personally, I recommend using RU-vid's playback speed tools to adjust the video for your own pace and needs. But thank you again!
Hello, the Makers Space at the Community College that I go to it has 4 minis, 2 mini 2, 1 Taz 6, and 1 Taz pro, and none of them print successfully. I am the student worker in the Maker space. I have been tasked with getting these things running. Is there any way you could help.
Hello! I am sorry to hear of your troubles, but yes I would be happy to assist! Please get in contact with me via my website - www.mrerdreich.com/about
Please don't stop making these videos. They are absolutely amazing. I tend to watch them on my TV, so I don't get to comment very often, but I love your videos.
Thank you for your support and views! I have no intention of stopping, in fact I have a lot of content in the pipeline that will be released over the next few months. Stay tuned, and subscribe for more.
Good question! The concept is the same, but you would need to match your thread pattern to that of a garden hose. This shape doesn't make that too easy to do unforuntately. What I would suggest is to download a STL model of a garden hose fitting, you can find them on thingiverse or mcmaster carr, then import this model into Tinkercad and use that do create your shapes.
Os objetos copiados copiarão todo o corpo. Se quiser ter peças separadas, você precisa garantir que escolheu "novo" ao fazer extrusões em vez de "adicionar"
Not like this. Copying using the transform tool will always make dependencies. You should make separate objects within the sketch to have independent parts.
The easiest way would be to make a sketch, draw a shape (rectangle), and extrude to remove the material you don't want at the top of the screw. You can also adjust do a manual sweep rather than a helix to have more control, but that's a bit more complex
Greetings, Great Instruction !!!!!,,,, I'm new to the 3D Printing scene, and have ideas to create some prints that serve a Utility function, and would like your advice on how to go about printing out something that is mostly hard , though has three sides that will clip onto a rail , so those edges would maybe be TPU , a filament that gives or clicks into place when pushed together.... Gluing would not be an option, as I would not trust it in the long run..... Any information in printer models and Ext heads would help.... Thanks.....
Thanks for the view and happy to assist! TPU comes in many different forms, some harder and more rigid than others which makes it easier to print, especially when combined with other rigid materials. I would suggest looking into GizmoDorks TPU, I find it to be the best compromise of rigid and flex and easy to print personally. You might also get away with a rigid material that has some flex to it, like PETg. PETg and TPU also print at similar temperatures, so swapping between those materials mid print would be easier to do than say PLA and TPU. Hope this helps!
There are many great options out there, but not many of them are suitable to print TPU and flexible materials out of the box. Heated glass beds, direct drive extruders, and 2.85 mm filament printers typically do better with this if you were planning or primarily printing flexible or abrasive materials over PLA.
Good day to all. Please help me figure out the prusa mini 3D printer. The thread does not stick, even after wiping the area with alcohol. Sticky tape. And problem 2, after the thread falls down, it gets clogged by the temperature sensor. And the printer's work ends.
Sorry to hear of your challenges! In terms of your bed, I would heat the bed to 70 degrees, then wipe it rather aggressively with a mixture of water and isopropyl alcohol using a scotch brite / brillo pad. This should activate the TPU bed and make it more sticky, without needing glue or tape (assuming you have the metal TPU bed...if not, I suggest you order one). I would also check your filament idler pulley, which you can learn more about here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-AJzafAzIYhM.html
I’m having problems getting things to stay grouped. They have a list of pre-made shapes and i chose one of a Chinese lucky cat holding a golden hashbrown. I wanted to 3D print just it’s head so i’ve been trying to merge everything below the cat’s neck with a big hollow cube. With the idea being that that would cause the body to disappear….. but it doesn’t work🤔 What am I doing wrong?
I understand this is an old video. I have done simular in the past and worked, but lately I can't get ANY threads to work, no matter what I try. They look great on screen, printed they are WAY off and ZERO chance of them working.
What type of printer are you using? You need to design your threads so that the tolerances are suitable for your printer. For example, typically FFF printers need a tolerance of .05 - 1 mm, so you would need to ensure that you have a gap of at least that in your design for the threads to print correctly.
@MrErdreich I have no idea what was happening, but I didn't change anything in how I do my threads. They worked before, then they didn't, now they work again, lol. I have to assume the cad gliched.
Thank you!!! I don't know what I'm doing in modeling software but really wanted to alter a file I've downloaded to have a pattern cut out of it instead of just a plank, really. This is perfect!
Hey! I used a flexible filament in my Dremel 3D45 and then paused the print and changed the filament to a PLA and manually edited the settings on the printer and now my printer is mad and no filament is coming out even when I’m hitting purge.. any idea on how to fix? Also, if I do the settings correctly next time, have you done a print where you toggle between flex and PLA In one print successfully? Thx!
Happy to help! What type of nozzle are you using (copper, brass, steel, etc)? TPU really needs a harder nozzle like a coated copper or hardened steel one. I would assume you're using a brass, nickel, or copper nozzle and the TPU has just completely jammed the inside of it. If you plan to swap between different filaments, I would suggest a coated hardened steel nozzle and that you increase your overall print temp to 225 c rather than the default 205 or so typically used for PLA.
There are chambers designed to dehydrate filament, but personally I haven't had great success with prolonged use after dehydrating filament. The best suggestion is to be proactive.
So it let’s me select one circle but is not letting me select the centre of the other circle? How can I do it so if selects both centres of the circle?
It sounds like something is blocking your ability to select. Perhaps hide other sketches or planes? Or select the sketch that the second circle is on using the sidebar, not by actually clicking on the circle itself.
