Mom guilt is a common struggle for many often fueled by societal expectations and self-criticism. My advice would be the following: 1) Acknowledge Feelings: It’s okay to feel guilty, but it’s important to recognize that these feelings don’t define self worth as a mother. 2) Redefine Success: Redefine what success looks like, both at home and at work. It’s not about perfection but rather about being present and doing your best in both roles. 3) Prioritize Self-Care: Remember that taking care of yourself also is vital. Self-care isn’t selfish; it enables you to be more present and engaged in both professional and personal life. 4) Seek Support: Lean on support network-friends, family, or parenting groups-who can offer reassurance and understanding. 5) Communicate: Openly talking with your children about your responsibilities and feelings can foster understanding and connection. Children often appreciate honesty and can be more resilient than we expect. 6) Celebrate Small Wins: Recognize and celebrate the small victories in both your parenting and professional life. Every positive moment counts! Ultimately, it’s important for you to remember that you are doing the best you can. Balancing motherhood and your personal life could be challenging, and it's okay to seek help and practice self-compassion.
