Hendry and O'Sullivan took their inspiration from Davis. It would have been interesting to see how they would have performed if they had played in the same era as Davis. If they hadn't had the opportunity to learn from Davis at an early age, would they have achieved the same level of success?
Meanwhile Ronnie threw a strop and quit a best of 17 match against Stephen Hendry because he was losing 4-1. Hendry should have said "I'm not bovvered, I'm glad he walked out." in the post match interview.
I love watching these guys working so hard, such skills, both masters of the sport, top of their game and they even have time to take a break and play snooker, amazing.
Every bit as good as O'Sullivan at that time in his career. Beautiful to watch, playing risky shots as if nothing mattered, at a speed a pool game is played.
The players back then were so happy to see their opponent's do this i remember kirk stevens watching jimmy do this and applauding at his bamana shots, drago was great . More excitement than modern day snooker
Alex in his prime 😊 He could have been like Ronnie O’Sullivan if he hadn’t got in with the wrong crowd and all the drinking and drugs. How he wasn’t world champion several times between 1972-1982 is amazing against the opposition in those days is amazing.
