I’m a Canadian knitting designer. I’m passionate about staying stylishly warm and inspired by the landscapes I travel through. I’m also nuts about gnomes.
I got my book from Amazon, it was on preorder and is finally here. I've been enjoying looking at all the lovely pictures and can't wait to start one of these lovely gnomes! Charlotte, NC, USA
Hi, Bernie flynn here from county cork in Ireland. Thank you Sarah. My beautiful, funny and precious book Gnomes of Grimblewood arrived today the 19th of September. I am so pleased to actually have the book a gift from my daughters Sarah and Aoife. It reminds me off a childhood TV show called Micheal Bentine's potty time from 1973 . It inspired me to start knitting Gnomes. You're Gnomes are amazing I have knitted 3 off your Gnomes so far learning as I go . I am a seasoned knitter for about 38 years dabbling in professional knitting for a few years but now I knit for the love and joy of knitting. Sorry I'm rambling. Love your work love you thank you .❤ Bernie

My book came today and it’s gorgeous. Sorry I wasn’t at the zoom. Unfortunately I was already on zoom at the same time, with something that was already planned.
I can't wait for my book and sorry to have missed the party. I couldn't see your demonstration of the curly beard on the recording - can you add a clip?
Aww Longmont Yarn Shop is my favorite LYS ever!! Wish I could still go there whenever I wanted. Clue 2 ... I am still struggling with trying to get it finished as I am watching this.
@@imaginedlandscapes I do not honestly see how I can fit more gnomes…. My college student graduated and the ~ 30 gnomes of the “college crowd” have moved back into my house…… it won’t stop me making more!
Hello Sarah. I had so much fun doing my very first Gnome. I did Gnatty in DK but using the 2.25mm creating a very dense fabric but I loved it… not going to see the stuffing, that’s for sure. 😊 I did have trouble pulling the brim down as it couldn’t get over the shoulders, because there weren’t any 😂 he was so round so I had to tack it down. Maybe I should have done the cast off round in bigger needles. Thank you for all you do… now back to my current Gnome’s “hat”. 😅
Watching this just told me what I did wrong in making yoga socks. You have to cast off for the open heel, then cast on again for after the heel. I was knitting to the inside, so the leg was opposite of the foot. Thank you so much!
That depends. It is an option I outline in the book, and many people find it helps. Other people find the lifeline is visible on the RS but fails to be very helpful on the WS. As long as you get about the right stitch count on your needles, you're golden! Do what works best for you.
I have loved listening to the podcast and I’m really gonna miss keeping up with the knitting and reading and board games. But I am looking forward to seeing what the future brings. And joining in on mkals and all the fun gnome stuff.
Have really enjoyed the youtubes, even if I don't catch you Live very often. Best Wishes, Katie - hope you pop in from time to time, and enjoy your new family home. That is a great blanket!! Sarah - I hope you do keep posting videos in whatever way/schedule works for you. I love your productivity, and enjoy watching/listening to you talk through your process. Best luck with your book!
