Hi! I'm Michaela and I am a PhD student at the University of Tübingen. I originally come from New Zealand and my husband and I moved to Germany in December 2021 for my studies. Welcome to my RU-vid channel! Here, I document my life in Germany, my studies, our travels, and I have started a Study With Me series to help motivate you while you are working! I would love for you to join along this crazy adventure with me!
No need to apologize. Some times are just like that and creativity always needs time and space. So do whatever feels most important to you, the rest is optional. Was nice to see you again!
Hi, fellow phd student here! I'm in my 3rd year, trying to finish writing up my thesis so I can submit it at the end of November this year, and watching your video made me feel less alone in the writing process (:
I completed my Master's dissertation a few days back. It was hectic but I am happy that I went through the process and endured eveythng during the writing.
That's remarkable! Making the best use of tools is essential. I'm exploring powerful aids such as DeepL and Immersive Translate for my self-study journey.
Hi Michaela, thanks for the video. it's very informative. One question: do you send other documents besides research proposal and CV when you first reached out to the professor? Hope to hear from you soon 😊
I just found you today and have been going through some old videos. These are such high quality, fun, and engaging videos. I cannot believe you only have 541 subscribers! I'm excited that I found you and can't wait to catch up, then see what's next!
So great to hear, I am glad you've finally found a new place. Hope everything goes well, can't wait to see the result. Maybe we can do a little housewarming soon!
Nice video, not everything goes always smoothly! BTW have you thought about making voice over instead of the captures? since I am usually doing something when watching your video, I miss what you are telling me :(
Thank you for telling me this! I normally do something while watching YT too but I didn't know if others did the same. I will keep this in mind and try to add more voice over in the future!
I use a bunch of different ones and am in the middle of making a video where I go through them all and how I use the. But for the meantime they are: Factotum, Voyant, and Collatinus.
Hello As a professional digital marketer and RU-vid expert I saw your RU-vid channel. There are many videos on your RU-vid channel. But due to not promotion in the right way, it is not reaching people. i will help with your video promotion. If you want to grow your channel properly, let me know. I will give you my best service thanks Jahid
Thank you for the detailed video. It really helped in giving a clear picture and adding on to the information about this. In that, everyone shares about their experiences and each one gives few points unique to them. I have also watched ur FAQs but was looking for some more details. I am quite confused as to why did u choose Canada over US for PhD? Anyways, Keep making videos sharing about ur academic life. Like ur videos. 😇
just discovered your channel. I am thinking about doing a Literature PhD so seeing the kinds of things a PhD student does day to day is really interesting. I've subscribed, looking forward to your next video. 😊
Am watching your video with a smile on my face because it is so real and it is a bit similar to my day here as a master's student here in Germany as well. When I saw your video it kinda reflected my day too (the planning/the walks/ the coffee machine breaks/ the neighbor's Handwerk hahahahaha/ the prepacked lunch/excel sheets/ the interesting German windows/ overpassing the no. of words:) ) but from a documenting point of view and you know what! I know I will miss those studying days in Germany. Planning to do my PhD as well after but let's see how things will turn out. Loved the part when your partner entered the house and made the Hi move:) that was spontaneous and please keep your videos this way. Wish you all the luck and crossing the fingers for you/ ich drücke dir die Daumen :) Subscribed :)
This is such a lovely comment! Thank you so much. It is for this reason that I am recording these videos, because I know that this time will not last forever and I feel so fortunate to be able to do this right now, even though sometimes it is kind of stressful. Wishing you all the best if you do the PhD! Its a lot of work but it is so worth it.
This was incredibly helpful for me as a prospective philosophy PhD student who wants to study German philosophers in Germany. Thank you for putting this video up!
Thank you for your comment! I have now made the video, you can check it out here! I hope it helps! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1aJ9i-SwKFY.html
Oh Melk is really beautiful. The thing that confused me a bit was that it felt like going through a museum. It is just such a stark contrast to the nearby monasteries like Lilienfeld or Heiligenkreuz, where you get to experience living in a monasteries and get into touch with the monks living there and being part of the local community
Yeah I felt that too! It definitely felt more like a museum. It was strange to learn that they have a school operating there and monks that you can meet, and yet the tour felt soooo removed from that. Which I can understand, but it was still so strange!
