Why do so many people let up on the kick peddle before the engine starts. The kicker gear is disengaged at the very bottom of the kick as well as the very top . Holding the peddle at the very bottom of the kick until the engine is running will prevent a broken leg in case the engine kicks back and not start. Duh !!!! Learn how to properly kick start a harley.
Neat bike. I've got a '69 xlch. I'm 72 years old. I'm getting one of those paddock electric roller starter that you put the rear wheel onto. Why do Sporty's need to be so contrary?
I owned a 68' right side shift 4 speed. Raked the front a touch w/ an 80s front end. Had a fatbob tank on it blue with white a triple ghost stripe design on it. Kick only. Looked very similar to that. Was a blast, and felt good when you get that kick right. Beautiful job. Beautiful bike.
Love the Sportyz, but they can be a bit tempermental. WAY back in the day, my buddy`s knee knocked-off the Tillotson Carb on his `68, when it 'got grumpy' !
Running without an air cleaner is just plain stupid, small pebbles and sand get in there and the cylinders will wear out super fast and need to be replaced because they will be seriously gouged up!
I had 68 at 17 called it goofy foot brakes shifter backwards. Your starts whole lot nicer than mine did I had to leave 30 minutes early coz you never knew got big twin 72 FLH at 20 I'm 58 it's 10 ft away behind dining RM table waiting for spring have great life peace
dude follow through with the fucking kick, then keep the pedal down after it starts , THEN let it back up. jesus watching a hipster kick a harley in his girlfriends boots is painful
