Hey, my name Jordin Machado (previously Grace), aspiring biologist and hopefully a future herptologist! I absolutely love sharing the things I learn about snakes, reptiles, and whatever else I come across. I am currently the owner of a small growing reptile business called Urban Dinos focused on making sure people can get healthy animals and know how to properly take care of them. In the future, I want to breed many different species and hold educational programs with some of the animals I have to help people realize these creatures can be stunning.
Hii! I’m buying a snake from you his name is periscope, and I can’t wait to take him home in October! I love hognoses so so much🥹 and I tricked my parents into letting me get him😋
These guys are not legally classified as a dangerous or truly venomous species. They are considered rear fang venomous, but it's closer to a red ant bite than a copperhead. As long as you don't let them chew on you, you are unlikely to have a reaction worse than some minor itching.
All my friends who have purchased from you have said that you sell noodles that eat really well. The one I got from you is twice the size as my other hognose because he loves food so much. I'm pretty sure the next time I lose my willpower battle and get another hognose I'll be buying from you again lol
This is what’s great to hear. Sometimes I start to wonder if I failed my little dude, but he took a month or so to start eating after I got him, ate food a month, then took three months off to ‘brumate’. It was so stressful for me, but he started eating again and is going good now.
It's a reassurance a lot of us need with our babies, especially if they are not the most consistent eaters. As long as they are growing, even if gradually, there is nothing to worry about.
Moi j'en ai mais je les ai eu je t'ai dit parce que parce que ils sont trop petits j'ai perdu de pièrre et n'hésite pas à laisser le bout ouvert parce qu'ils peuvent sortir ils sont vraiment en discret
No swelling at all, just minor itching from a snake bite because she did get a good chomp in there. I don't ever let any snake chew on me for long enough. Most hognose bites don't give serious reactions as long as they are removed promptly! This same short has a lot more info posted in the description on our Facebook, Instagram, or TikTok if you wanted to read it :)
@@SnakefulGrace yeah my baby girl got a 3 minute chomp in on me and my entire arm swelled up. Couldn't close my hand and had to go on a 10 day anti-biotic bc the infection it caused went to my armpit. I was really surprised bc I have gotten little nibbles before and it was as you have described. Definitely will never make the mistake of worrying about her safety in getting her off!!
Awww, it's usually hard to capture lavender colors on screen, but when we do, we try having a normal as well, as that seems to help correct their colors.
Generally, it involves opening their mouth and forcing the food down far enough they can't spit it back up. It is extremely stressful for the snake and many times, especially with hognoses, the stress can result in their death.
Quasi was not a breeder, he was one of our ambassadors for pet-only hognoses, also used to showcase why kinked snakes should not be bred. He unfortunately passed last year, at around 5 years old, but lived a good live in a bioactive enclosure for the large majority of it until we had to keep a closer eye on him and do our best to make him comfortable towards the end.
@@SnakefulGracethat’s a good use of an otherwise beautiful snake. Pet-only ambassador animals have such an important place as an educational tool. Happy to see he lived well, and with purpose.
