I'm always too busy trying to injure myself in a drunken mosh frenzy to record anything.. kids these days eh, ('was' always too busy, I forgot I'm old now.) I remember seeing them in Glasgow around 89 with Dark Angel supporting, dislocated my knee in one of the wildest gigs I've been too, was a small venue called the Mayfair and before health and safety decided that everyone diving headfirst off the stage into a writing mass of lunatics wasn't safe enough.
None So Vile was my favorite record back in the late 90s/early 2000s. A friend gave me a copy of Blasphemy Made Flesh on cassette tape at one point, and that got heavy play as well. Then an entirely different person gave me Lucid Interval on compact disc and that blew my mind. Anyway, back then, I couldn't get into the DiSalvo era stuff. I listened to this interview for the CCV content, but I think I'm going to go back and give at least Whisper another spin. Mike seems like a rad guy. Thanks for putting this out.
Amazing band, just discovered them last night after reading an interview with Luc from Gorguts suggesting bands to check out. These guys are amazing I personally prefer the dance with the heavy, dissonant brutal music and the dark atmospheric avant-garde progressive elements even within the vocals from awesome clean stuff to brutal distorted vocals. I hope they don't stray too far from what they do best, I get the need ro express oneself artistically but man. This is what you guys do best, capitalize on it, refine it and make it better somehow lol. If you pull an opeth just start a new project 😂. Anyway not my band, but for right now what you do is awesome. I'm a fan
Old interview, but I find it funny how many people still like to talk about Mayhem, Dead and Euronymous. So many good Black Metal bands now, it would be nice to move on.
I’m married to a woman from Veracruz Mexico…and I played brujeria for her AND she was shocked!!!!! lol I been listening to them for years…BUT honestly there’s millions of white people who LOVE brujeria….so a lot of people are mistaken
john connelly is one of rare metal musicians who act as a counterweight to claim "metalheads are complete idiots". but then on the idiotic side you got real heavyweights like trey azagthoth, patrizio mameli, vince neil, mike portnoy, james labrie, dio.
The title track for the Plague was the best song ever written by a Thrash Metal band. It wasn't really a Thrash song is why I said best song by a Thrash band. I've listened to Game Over, and the Plague daily for years now. Handle With Care is also really good. I think that John sounds too much like Sam Kinison on Survive , but otherwise a decent album
Good dude. When i was a kid, Trail of Tears really fucked me up. I dont know that it saved my life but it let me know that other kids felt the way i did. Nice interview. 👍🏼
I am glad to hear that! So I guess now we know that he saved 4 lives at least :) You have two more interviews with Danny Lilker on the channel. Cheers!
American death metal.... Murrrrica 🤘 Death will always hold a heavyweight champions belt and all those early albums the early eps as well will forever be a beacon and blueprint chuck he made the road map for gutair players everywhere even if you aren't in to super tech shit I mean the sound the gear he used huge influence to so many bands early 90es shit all the way up to now honestly Even tho it's very rare to see or hear bands that stay close to that sound I mean molder etc they are out there tho now it's archspire beyond creation rivers of nihl all the 10thousand string bands lol not shitting on it just not so much my taste

How about a fictional song based on a virus that came from a lab that resulted in a world wide lock down and the only way back was to be coerced and threatened into taking a certain medical procedure that just happened to coincide with excess mortality rates worldwide with young healthy people suddenly dropping like flies but for some strange reason is being ignored by the "Powers that Be" Oh wait..............
What a fantastic interview, it's so cool listening to him talk about the metal scene. I used to be friends with Gene in the late 90s/early 2000s when he was living in Vancouver playing with Strapping Young Lad. I was very young and naive and had no idea at the time how amazing it was to be his friend and what a legend he is.
Awesome interview, Snake is a superhero. Someone asked Chewy once in an interview who is the toughest guy in the band and he said Snake, now I know why! Very exciting about the new album , I can't wait to hear how all the songs sound re-recorded.
Eric's vocal performance on 'Negatron' is definitely on my top ten of all time, I remember when I first heard it back then I was absolutely blown away!!!! Great interview as always !..! !..!
You have 2 more interviews with Away and one more with Snake + one interview with Snake & Away aaaaand last but not least, one more interview with Eric Forrest :) Subscribe for more stuff!
