Just adds to the thousands of acres of concrete and purposefully empty building space. Then have the hide to carry on about carbon footprint, make you a bit sad what happened in Australia.
No money for hospitals or the homless lets just borrow millions for this monstrosety that only pleases the privelaged fat cats in the art wourld living off the hard working aussies with real jobs
Had Tuckson been American he would be world famous and his work would be worth millions. Great presentation. I agree the two vertical stripes are depictions of Tuckson and his wife. Tuckson is on the left and those odd little white dots he made by tapping his brush against the canvas are in fact kisses to his wife.
Using electricity powered microphones, cameras and internet livestreams while in a complex building designed and engineered by Anglo-Australians. That has to be the height of irony when talking about appropriation
I was an international student who studied in Melbourne bank in 2000-04'. One of my assignments was to do research on him, this drove me mad and I devoured my wife shortly after. do not research the blue poles
Amazing talk. Thank you so much for sharing this. I´m an artist, fashion designer and teacher from Spain who deal with commint and not commit cultural appropiation. As art scholars and students we tend to learn about others to copy them to learn "how to make art" instead of make our own art from our inner intuition or wisdom. In fashion is tipycal making your collection with a "moodboard" based in a topic, who used to had a lot of cultural references. My childhood favourites designers like Galliano focus his career in other´s cultures. I made several "exotism" art in my student life and in my professional life. But several years ago I make a truly effort to decolonice my art and found a new way to create. I no have correct words for comunnicate my feelings with all the people around the planet who crhistians and spaniards colonizers do in the past. I,m so sorry and I hope we can found a way for made a better world for all of us in the future. I learned a lot with this talk. Amazing artists presented here.
I am so glad that I listened to your talk. Your discription of Jackson's Pollock's approach using an overall focus rather than a centrally focussed approach, is brilliant! What an amazing insight you have given everyone.
