I’m Dominican as well. I find it interesting that I’m more African than you, but I’ve been told I have white passing features. Just goes to show you can’t judge a book by its cover. We’re not all just Spanish/African/Taino. You have to remember Europeans were mixing before colonizing the Caribbean.

I really want to do one of these tests! I am so curious about my ethnicity because my family comes in all colors (as many dominican families are). While I have "light" skin (I am not white but I also am fairly light compared to my family) but I am sure that I have a lot of african in my dna as my mother, my grandpa, half my cousins, and my sibblings have darker skin and most of us have curly to coily hair. I am so curious to see if any of these tests is detailed enough to pinpoint the african countries that my ancestors came from. From the european side, it was well documented and i know that we have a lot of spanish and french in my family, but from africa we have no clue

Even though you are mostly white with some distant black dna, you actually look more native american than any of those two races. I'm Cherokee and you can easily pass as my family member. You have the indigenous eyes, facial structure, nose etc. Gorgeous woman. Us Native Americans are technically asian and you can def pass as one of us.
@@felixperalta9135 she looks like North American Natives and there are still full blood Cherokee’s. There is a black guy on here with 26% Native American. His grandmother is a full blood eastern band Cherokee. They don’t look just like Mexicans. All Natives don’t look the same.
@@felixperalta9135 btw most of us Caribbeans have Mayan/Aztec/Totonac ancestry. The Spaniards were selling those natives as slaves throughout the Caribbean and even the Southern United States. My father had a full blood Native American relative from Veracruz, Mexico. The man is 100% Native American. I was told by his son that they are Nahuatl.

Inflight Mami probably we could be related, I found another girls who show her dna results here on RU-vid I was watching videos about Dominicans dna test I saw her video normally and don’t pay too much attention, after that when I was watching my matches I saw her name and I was like: where I saw this name before? 🤔🤔🤔 and them I remind her video 🤣🤣 my name on ancestry Is: Rody Santana.
Robert Martin You kind of sound like a weirdo, but it varies from person to person amongst Hispanics/Latinos in the Caribbean. They can have the same genetic make up as this girl but exhibit different phenotypic traits. Vast majority of Dominicans from what I’ve seen take the test are 50-60% European. Now the European is exclusively Spain and the ancestral dna of the Spanish colonial settlers was primarily Iberian with varying amounts of Italo/Greco and smaller amounts of North African and Irish due to the Celtic roots of Galicia.
@ The way he phrased it " The European shows", etc.... that's what I meant like commenting on her phenotypic features. It just was phrased weird. But adding to his comment I can definitely see the African and "indigenous features in her as well.

Me ha gustado el video, pero me resulta difícil de entender un detalle, si eres dominicana y por tanto el idioma oficial de la República Dominicana es el español, que comparte con Haití una isla que se llama "La Española" en el Mar Caribe, ¿por qué hablas en inglés y no en español? ¿te avergüenzas de hablar español y de tus raíces?....es que incluso comienzas el video dicendo "Hello, mi gente", en vez de decir "Hola, mi gente", me resulta cuando menos curioso. Un cordial saludo. I liked the video, but I find it difficult to understand a detail, if you are Dominican and therefore the official language of the Dominican Republic is Spanish, which shares with Haiti an island called "La Española" in the Caribbean Sea, why? What do you speak in English and not in Spanish? Are you ashamed to speak Spanish and your roots? ... is that you even start the video saying "Hello, mi gente", instead of saying "Hola , mi gente", I find it at least curious. A cordial greeting.
