Most of these MODIFICATIONS /UPGRADES /OR WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY (depending on view point) were done for the fun of it, when something caught my eye, and appeared at a reasonable price.
I agree with others, that buying a better turntable in the first place would probably be better value for money and probably give greater sonic results. However, my turntable journey went the way it did.
I've just fitted Tweaker Man's iso pod feet today, first impressions are very positive. More listening tests to do, watch this space for a no holds barred review! Jim🏴🙂
@@1963nicko thanks Nick, The isoAcoustics Gaia iii feet were £400 for eight, so the comparison of Tweaker man's custom made iso pod feet are I believe, going to be interesting! 😉
@@1963nicko it certainly does Nick, I started getting into it again as my health got worse and I couldn't do so much in the shed with my other passion for tuning Vespas! So I went down the tweaking hifi rabbit hole! 😉😂
@@Josianne-Music thanks very much Josianne, this is my TT I told you about, that's fitted with a 2M Blue sylus in a 2m Red cartridge body. Jim 🏴🙂

@@jimsregaturntableshifijukebox Thank You, Jim. I’ve never changed my Rega cartridge so far. I put the 2M red on my technics and it wasn’t too bad. I hope it’s aligned 😅🙏 I can see that you are using the 2M blue one and it sounds great. I want to try the other cartridge you recommended soon. 😊🥰
@@jimsregaturntableshifijukebox yes I noticed. But your table is way better looking than mine. Love it man. ❤️🙏👍🎻 If I may suggest perhaps do a close up shot of the table itself next time. Would love to see up close. Thanks.
Nice one Jim. Is the motor on the lower tier of the perspex? Nice when someone plays something you haven't heard for a while. He's equally loved and derided in equal measures is Sting. Now where is my cd of ten sumners tales, must look! Pete.x
@@petejay7851 Hi Pete, long time no see, my friend. Cheers mate, aye the motor is on the lower tier SRM Tech Silent Base. Very true what you say about Sting, I always think of him being a "Nippy Sweetie" as we say here, ever since he used to thumb his nose at Quadrophenia movie reunions! 😉😂 How you doing anyway buddy? Jim 🏴🙂
Not so bad Jim. Trying to get the garden bits done in readiness for winter and the usual school runs with my son, now in 6th form and suited and booted. He's a lovely young man.
This is a test video showing a different view of my custom turntable, unfortunately the stereo balance seems to be off due to the camera position! 🤔🫣 My system parts used in this video are in the description. You always come through with a fantastic video, Jim. It's so important to remember our history. I was born 20 years after the war, but it was still a very real memory for people. Today, kids see WWII like ancient history. It might as well be the Romans. I think even more so in the US. We'd be wise to never forget our history. Thanks for this.
@@VinylShack It's my favourite war film, I remember watching it with my dad. Lost count of the number of times I've seen it. It was my dad who first told me about the 1st Polish Independent Parachute Brigade training in this area, and that being why we have a lot of Polish Families that stay in this area from that time.

Thanks very much Charles. I use the original Rega TT PSU that comes factory calibrated/matched to the motor of my turntable. It is an external box that switches between 33- 45 at the touch of a button, it is originally powered by a wallwort, but I use a Swagman linear power supply instead of the wallwort.
