lol his sister keeps getting asked about the scarf, and is clueless about it. Most likely a literary device. couldn't say he was in love is right after this: "And you were tossing me the car keys, "Ffff the patriarchy" / Key chain on the ground, we were always skipping town 😉
Holy cow! That was amazing!! Such a talented vocalist he is!! I never listened to Skid Row, but I’ve heard of them, so I didn’t know about Erik individually. He has one of the best voices out there, hands down! The piano was just beautiful, too. It made me really regret not following through on piano lessons when I was younger. And the guitar in this version had kind of a “Queen” vibe to me. So if I’m comparing someone to Brian May, then it doesn’t get much better than that! Thanks for the song and thanks for another great reaction!💗
Upstate NY; probably Hudson Valley or Catskills. I 'm from the Berkshires, but lived in Albany, and Rome. Anything north of Poughkeepsie is probably "upstate" to somebody. 🙂 She was spending a lot of time in the city, doing talk shows, visiting friends, and album promotions anyway. eventually buying apartments there (and merging them into a bigger place). She filmed the video in upstate NY from the looks of it. photo album on the counter: for anyone born before late 1990's.
If you're from NYC everything north of the Bronx is 'upstate' but people that live from Albany north say that's really upstate. I have to agree with the city folks on this one 😉.
You’re right about her saying it’s love but he never called it what it was. You had the lyrics for the original version, not the 10-min. version. I googled 10-minute song lyrics and I got the original lyrics, too. I found all the lyrics when I looked up guitar chords for the song. So go check those out because they’ll give you the right stuff. When you talk about her lyrics being interwoven, she did that in this song when she said she was in the party bathroom (for her 21st birthday that he didn’t attend but said he’d be there. And she spoke of an actress who followed her to the bathroom asking what happened to make her cry. She writes about that as well in her song “The Moment I Knew” as well as at least one other song. The word on the street, because you know how I run the streets, is that the actress is actually Jennifer Anniston. I think all Swifties agree that this song is about Jake Gyllenhall, and people have gone up to his sister, Maggie, asking where the red scarf is! Which reminds me on her song with Chris Stapleton “I Bet You Think About Me,” she gives the bride a red scarf. Thanks again for another great reaction, and thank you so much for doing my request! And thank you for your kind words. They truly mean so much to me!!❤️❤️❤️
She's been on SNL several times; for a very very different song, check out her 2009 Monologue Song (La La La) (Fearless Tour era) ----- a couple weeks after the Kanye VMA incident. She and Taylor Lautner both hosted shows that fall (She and Lautner were filming Valentine's Day that year too; and he was presenter at the award show; and they were dating, too. Lots of room for comedy). Taylor wrote the song herself --- Seth Meyers was talking about it a couple years ago on Howard Stern's show. She showed up, and they just threw out the intro they'd written. Sort of like, how she wrote Carolina for Where The Crawdads sing ---- if she just shows up with a song, you run with it.
Thank you for making the connection to Joni Mitchell because that's who she always reminds me of. Joni Mitchell but like if Joni Mitchell wasn't so uncomfortable with her fame. After this you should check out her song "The Manuscript" from her most recent album. Its a more grown up perspective of the story of All Too Well. She's from more central PA closer to Philly but in this song she's referring to upstate NY since she has moved to NYC prior to this. Edited to add: The lyrics you read are of the original version of the song. Still great, but that's why you couldn't find everything you heard in the 10 minute version of the song that you watched her perform. There's more context in the longer version.
I highly recommend watching her Grammy performance of the original song. It’s simply amazing. There’s arguments for the rehearsal is slightly better. Both are great videos. The thing I noticed about this performance she stopped playing her guitar. I think she broke a string or something. It’s very rare that she hands off her guitar mid song like that. Also, very early in her career she actually hosted the show once. Where most of the skits were mostly her own ideas. The monologue that the writers wrote was scrapped for a song she wrote. It’s quite funny. That show is worth a watch. There’s interviews where she over prepared more than most guests do. She haven’t hosted since because of the amount of preparation that goes into it. Think she has the record for amount of time as a musical guest on the show.
I think you’re right because I noticed that it sounded like she accidentally hit a string, & I was thinking “At least that happens to her, too!” but I just noticed she wasn’t playing anymore. I didn’t see her hand off her guitar, so I think you’re right. I bet she broke a string! I did that just yesterday!😂
The original video for this song gives me chills because it talks about domestic violence. I think it's one of Tarja's best videos, I hope you can see it (even if you don't react to it).
I think Tarja doesn't get the recognition she deserves. This show is wonderful. Next year I will see a show by Tarja and Marko at a string concert, that's going to be beautiful!!
It's just my opinion, but for me, it's her lyrical masterpiece, .... so far. She has a lot of deep songs with great pictures, but there is something about these lyrics, that's just magical.
Some information about Erik and some old preforms from Idol 2009. I believe that was is his “audition to Skid Row. I will try to briefly explain the plot of the song. It is a direct speech of the executioner, who personifies all the executioners in history, as if they were one person. And he says that among all the numerous executions, only the son of God was innocent, but he was still forced to execute him. The pre-chorus sings that when humanity disappears from the face of the earth, he will laugh joyfully and will finally be able to leave his hard work. Then it is said that he came to God to find out the meaning of what happened - the death of his son, he wanted to give up his work, which he no longer wanted to do. But he found God indifferent and unconcerned, and obviously having experienced shock in connection with what happened, he concluded that now he is the savior of humanity. And the ending in the context of the story is more understandable: I am near, I am here! The sword is my cross! But you cannot crucify me ... Cry! I was created by heaven The executioner ...
ALL hale the REAL TRUE QUEEN 👑 of NIGHTWISH and of ALL FEMALE SYMPHONIC METAL SINGERS!!!, the very beautiful looking and very unique voice of the enchanting TARJA!!!😀👍👍🤘
I forgot to write on my thanks, you should check out her tribute album to LED zeppelin. And she amazing video to Black dog I think you'd love it and so will the community. 💕🦋 Thanks for the reaction and Beth Hart is such a brave person we are lucky to still have her
I'm so happy to see this being reaction to. The song is amazing and one of my favorites, it's extremely emotional I love your channel and thanks for all the time and effort you put into the reactions much love ❤
Not a big country fan, but this is pretty good. Sounded to me like it had more of a bluesy feel ,with horns. So you like bluegrass? How about bluegrass versions of popular rock and metal songs , done by some guys from Finland? Band is called Steve'n'Seagulls. They have bluegrass covers of songs like "Thunderstruck", "November Rain", "Nothing Else Matters", "The Trooper", and "Sleeping Sun" with Tarja.
Chris, I'm surprised! I think you know my channel better that I do at times!! 🤣🤣Of course I've done Steve'n'Seagulls! In fact, I did do that one with Tarja and the Trooper and Thunderstruck! I love those guys!
Yeah, Tarja sounds awesome here, Nice song. I'm not nearly as familiar with her solo stuff as her NW related stuff, thanks for helping me fix that. Looked it up to see how old the actual song is, says lead single from her 2016 6th solo album. Another symphonic band you haven't reacted to yet is Within Temptation. If interested, may as well start with their collaboration with Tarja. "Paradise(What About Us) feat Tarja. Within Temptation and Tarja will be playing some shows together in the next couple months.
THANKS !!!!!!!!! Awesome sublime art, TARJA has tons !!!!!!!!!! Take a peek at the official video for this , helps explain this important song about abuse and friendship, plus is a work of art unto itself !!!!!!!!! ☮☮💘💘💥💥
אצל ביל יש גם my tunnels are long and dark in these days - Lost Horse - A man without a name שתוכל להגיב. כמו כן נשמח שגם אתה תבקש שירים : יהיה נחמד לעלות מודעות @tomerpriel
Thank you for this! Circus Life was a celebration concert for Tarja's 15-year solo career. That's also the reason why the band is so big. The concert was filmed in 2020, in Romania. I have the Blue-ray for this concert and the whole concert is brilliant. It's my favourite concert from Tarja. Another great songs from this same concert are Shadow Play, Diva and 500 Letters. There is only a good quality video for Diva on YT from that concert. Here is a link if you want to check that one out: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lCppAYG8FDQ.htmlsi=3QfGltukIxMdXPEU Innocence is one of Tarja's biggest hits. I don't know really what it's about but the music video for it deals with domestic violence.
Thanks for the reaction. Tarja is an amazing artist. Not only a singer, but also a composer and songwriter. I think this concert is one of her best. I especially love Diva and Shadow Play from it. Diva is a distrack to Nightwish. But even without this knowledge, this is an excellent song, somewhat reminiscent of a carnival. Shadow Play is her very personal song and she is the sole author of this song.
You're right! Asaf is a very successful international artist. (almost 20 years). He certainly doesn't need or seek for more publicity..We're the ones who like to see him on the reaction channels ,and in fact to give a huge gift to those who don't know this talented -genius - phenomenal artist😍
That makes sense to me. For me, first Ren and then his band The Big Push and those he collaborated with and then Asaf because of Ren's fans telling me about him. He may have a successful international career, but going by some of the comments, there are people around the world who have just discovered him because of reaction channels.
@@BemusingBillAnd this is exactly why we are doing it.. Most people in the US are less exposed to him because his career is mostly in Europe.I appreciate you and your support so much dear Bill ❤️
Thank you for the reaction. This is one of my all time favourite performances (by anyone). Amazing song, amazing musicianship by all involved, and incredible arrangement with such contrasts and, of course, there is Tarja. Absolutely brilliant! 💥 ❤❤❤❤❤ I have watched the Blu-ray of the Circus Life concert countless times. It's a brilliant concert and show. Another must track to react to from Circus Life is "Shadow Play" which brings the concert to an end in spectacular fashion and might give you a side to Tarja that you are not familiar with.
I see my little friend back there with her "Hi Gaye" sign. I just loved the sound of this. The piano and strings, in that solo, caught my heart. One thing I did notice, Bill, is that the sound of the video was muffled for some reason. I went back to the original video to see if it was that, but that video has much clearer sound. You might want to check your system to see if something needs adjusting.
Erik is amazing, i get goosebumps everytime i listen to this cover His Dream on cover is also brilliant, not to mention his FFDP cover yea everything Erik does is pure gold, his Wheels of forTunes original songs are awesome also. Not to mention how humble he is and how he supportive he is to his fans When i met him in Stockholm for his bookrelease, i had never been on a plane before due to anxiety, Agoraphobia and ptsd, his personality and his voice made my world/live so much bigger, i regained so much freedom, and he gave me such a big hugg. He is such a beautifull person inside and out
He is A MAN surrounded by a radiant aura, a pure talent , songs that resonate with infinite beauty His creativity and his voice unlike any other🥀 Thank you dear Bill for your amazing reaction!!♥
Asaf is incredibly good on live performance!! Yes Yes.. It's a kazoo😍 OH! and these lyrics.. "Train, train, has come again to take my body back to its pain"..Metaphorically genius! I'll quote one of the reactors- He's as entertaining as he's talented💥 Thank you again my dear Bill, for your amazing reaction ❤️ I really appreciate it🫶
