Hi. Can you sweep 2 knobs at once with that controller like you would on analog console, rather than just one knob control at a time. That would be a deal breaker if you can't
SQUARE incapsulates the S...the top of PI fits between its 4 feet...and then the pixels uv sand form the AG wave atop PI in and out within and without MACRO/MICRO^8L7969L78
dont talk t5o much, my god....guys who are intressted on SSL are mostly peoples with experience so please treat us like this and let us hear the plugin....
@@francescomarrone8466 I think I'm just voicing what many are thinking. There are so many plugin demo videos out there.....and as an engineer I am very interested in SSL. But if this is just talking about buttons where you already know in advance what this knobs are going to do....then frustration show's up. no beginner will buy this plugin for sure. and yes for this guys the explanation of knobs are importent. but i dont expect such videos from SSL
I have the SSL12 but everytime that I shutdown and turn on my Mac, the soud that comes from the interface is distorted, like a crackling or popping sounds, it happens only when I shutdown my computer completely, after a couple of minutes, it starts to sound normal. Anyone with the same issue? SSL sent me another unit and it has the same issue, also I tested on different Macs with no success.
Working on a podcast; wondering if there is an example with vocals which have a lot of bleed? Would like to see how this compares to a gate I’ve been using in post. Thanks
If you have a ton of bleed this isn't the tool, this is an expander & gate which is good for basic gating with zero latency for live work. For something like multivoice bleed look at Waves Clarity VX and use it after the podcast is recorded it should clean up everything. If you need something for real-time no latency the only option is the UAD C-Cuite Vox plugin but that requires a Universal audio interface. If you want to spend no money there is the Bertom audio denoiser classic which is free and can be used in real time with no latency and works really well for zero latency bleed and noise reductions without artifacts but it has a more involved user interface and isn't just a 1 knob plugin. Cheers!
It's almost good. I have the UF1 and the UC1 within Studio One. Having to put a plugin on every track just for track selection is really a no go and this way it's almost useable, but not really. Such a missed opportunity cause if only this feature did work, it would be heaven.
Might be my ears, or it could be the RU-vid algorithms, but there are some hefty plosives sneaking through all the processing, including the words "pride" and "past". What's the best plugin, using only the SSL Complete range, for eliminating those plosives and taming them?
Sounds great… love having to have an ilok account and having to download a shitload of software that i don’t want just to make the thing work is superb… if only they could make the whole setup process more convoluted and inconvenient because the last thing i want is something that can just plug in and it works… big pass for me😢
Excellent demo, I've been using SSL X-Limit on my 2 bus for several months. Another good alternative is Slate FG-X 2, both of which I have with the Complete bundle.
Great video! I've been using the entire SSL ecosystem (UF8, UF1 and UCI) and loving it. Is there a real advantage in engaging HQ on every instance of tge channel strip, or is the payoff not worth it on some types of signals?
I can believe that this person is a great mix engineer, but the material he has been given to mix sounds like typical hollywood melodramatic pap, no? So very ordinary and typical so that it hardly tugs on one's emotions, no matter how much emotion he experienced mixing it.
Beautiful UI, but damn shame about the CPU usage. Not sure if a bug or just poor code, but with one dynamic band it's pulling >10% cpu on HQ, and still around 3% on normal. Add more bands and it gets completely out of control, and that's with just one instance. Kirchoff / Pro Q3 I can have way more dynamic bands and still be at 0-1%.
great updates I just really wish ableton had less redundant buttons and also you could select track by touching the faders & for the UF8 to jump to the selected track in the DAW as well as colour coding without the need to use 360 channel mixer
I love it but it's really really difficult to understand the pricing. There's no way possible that the material, tech, circuits or even the engineering aspect of it could add up to over 100 thousand dollars. It's like what Apple are doing with the Iphone but 30 times worse. It's not worth it. It simply isn't and if SSL starts to recognise that they will make more money than any manufacturer ever dreamed about making. That goes for most analog gear out there. Fairchild might be the best example of this. It's a stereo compressor that's not that special but even the replicas goes for 30 thousand. It's a weird and ugly part of capitalism.
I agree with pretty much everything he says, only I wouldn't classify it as affordable. It's quite expensive. 55k for the base model Origin 16. Youch. 20k is more like it.
I really think you would sell tons of your products more if you would made them with total recall in the mind...a lot of guys are already doing it....please come to the future ssl......you've already made vst plugin's..why not connect them with hardware ?
I ran a bounced SFX (Braaams) through the 4KB and ingited the mic pre. And this is one of those moments in a sound designers journey where he's taking back to the sound of his Father's SSL 4000 in 1996. That SSL fuzz.
That’s a great non-fussy way to define the range of dynamic action. It’s the perfect way to control, see, and hear all with one move. This EQ is very versatile. I often want only a single, maybe two, dynamic bands and I can see doing that quickly with this plug-in.
