Thanks for sharing! Yeah, this song is definitely a challenging one to master at full speed, even if the notes are straightforward. Keep practicing and you'll get it down. Playing upright bass is all about building that muscle memory. Keep at it and enjoy the process! 🤘🎸
That slapping is much harder than it looks. I'm new to it, and its just as tiring as singing is for me at the moment. I've been playing "dreaming of you" by the coral as it uses 1-5 on the bass and anarchy in the uk. I;m working up to psychobilly freakout. It's easy in theory, harder in practice. Lots of forearm strength. I've got steel strings with a very high action as I havent had the bridge adjusted just yet, but getting there with my technique. I love playing it. So much fun and looks cool as fuck.
Thanks for sharing your journey! Slap bass is definitely a workout, especially with high action and steel strings. It's all about building that forearm strength and getting comfortable with the technique. If you ever think about switching from steel strings, Superior Bassworks has gut-alike strings that sound really good. There's a better video covering this song here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pkuDmW1_FOY.htmlsi=26b8SeRY7amDVBrw Keep rocking! 🤘🎸
Nice dude!! What strings are you using? And was this with the zoom h4 again? Just using the built in mic on the device to record your bass running through an amp?
2014 was the last Ink N Iron in Long Beach, if I remember correctly. Two stages and a killer lineup all days: Guana Batz, King Kurt, Batmobile, Klingonz. I recorded tons of videos there. I'll be posting them in the coming weeks. Cheers!
In fact, the video I'm editing right now will be posted tomorrow. I'm stoked about the upright bass line on this one since the original bass track was composed for electric bass.
@@onlybasskdemon oh right so it goes acoustic bass -> picked up by the mic on the h4 -> h4 goes into computer via USB? Or does your bass plug into your h4, which then plugs into your PC?
@@anthonyplaysbass That's it! =>>> acoustic bass -> picked up by the mic on the h4 -> h4 goes into computer via USB -> mixing and mastering on Logic Pro.
You really got talent with that bass! Keep it up 🤘 i really enjoy watching your bass videos. Wish i had kept practicing my skills with slap bass In my early adulthood. I would have been a good bass player, but my dream of A rockin' band haven't faded! Rock'n'roll!!!
@@Psykosika Thanks a bunch for the comment, dude. Glad you’re digging it. And it’s never too late to get back into it. Keep the spirit alive, and who knows, maybe we’ll jam together someday. 🤘🎸
Thanks a ton! It means a lot that you keep coming back. I'm stoked you enjoy the videos. There are new ones up, so be sure to check them out. Stay tuned and keep the good vibes rolling! 🤙🎸
