I'm an old metalhead with a lot of opinions on many things. Here, I will react to music of all kinds, review music, books, TV, movies, and more. I'll go on and on about the music that filled my youth and made me the metalhead I am. I'll try to be insightful and toss in a bit of humor, but I'm no professional entertainer. This is for fun and to share things with other people who may find it interesting. There's enough bad stuff going on in the world. I hope I can help get your mind off of things just a little.
Who the * is Napoleon?! This is most definitely a song about my cat. "I will rule the universe I'm the glory, I'm the brave Going down in history forever I will rule the universe I shall crush their sorrows veil And soon I will be marching into heaven I'm greater than God!" Yes. Without any doubt.
Alestorm definitely NOT the first pirate metal band I know of several previous ones. First seems to be "Black Jack" from Australia 1979, followed by "Running Wild" from Germany. Alestorm, possibly the best, sparked off a revival of Pirate metal from about 2006. Patty Gurdy has featured on several Alestorm albums. She was previously in still active German Pirate Band "Storm Seeker" but left to pursue a solo career. A hurdy-gurdy has a wheel and keys and to me, often sounds a bit like bagpipes! It has many sounds though. They have been a feature in Central European folk for a LONG time. Patty of course is still rather young and as far as I know has only been a member of the one band, though has performed as a guest with several. Patty is as much a singer as a hurdy player. She has sung with Pirate band Storm seeker of which she was a member and with Alestorm previously as well as on most of her solo songs and as a guest for other artists and bands like D'Artagnan. She plays as a guest on all Alestorm albums now, even sometimes touring with them, but I don't think she wants to join as a member - after all she already left one pirate band to start a successful solo career.
Ive been listening to run of the mill for years i turned t onto it from adventures with t to react to it, judas priests olders albums are their best work to real priest fans to really appreciate them you have to go through the discography and remember the time and era and also the fact that music evolved about every 10 years or so and bands had to adapt to survive anyway there is my 2 cents rock on!!!!!
this is ain't a love song, this IS heavy metal song. composes by miyako n asami. (includes the flamenco.. 😊) this song dedicates for the watanabe miyako-san's baby. 😊😊
I have a lot of live videos of great bands and 2 of my favs are Black Sabbath Paris 70 and GnR Live at the Ritz. Both these vids show a bands at the start of something amazing Sabbath went on to create a genre and sadly GnR crashed and burned. This show of the warnings is every bit as good as these 2 legendary live shows. Let's just hope they have a career as long as sabbath. I have no doubt these ladies are going to be phenomenal.
Good insights - thanks for that! Evgeniy here - what you described RE: the singing style and the similarity to Japanese comes from Russian being my native language, and that of my musical background. Russian and Japanese are very phonetically similar (strange but true), and this is part of the reason why you also detect this similarity in vocal performance. Other part is the influence, of course. The other big vocal influence for me was Roy Khan (ex-Kamelot). Glad you enjoyed the track!
Good News! (for now) RU-vid did the right thing and took down the video. However, based on this guy's history and how much money he is making, I know he will appeal it. When this happened with another author, he appealed and the video was put back up. So, we'll see how long it stays down. However, 100% plagiarism is not acceptable Fair Use of copyrighted material. I will fight it if he appeals.
That is why I keep my stories in my head and on papers with ink and never online. I don't understand why no one has integrity anymore. I'm sorry that happened to you. I know it stinks that he stole your story, but one day someone will steal something from him. Karma always wins.
I had a lot of trouble getting this uploaded. RU-vid wouldn't take it and I had to run it through Adobe Premiere, then it still wouldn't let me upload it. Finally, it took and here it is! @RenMakesMusic we got your back!
@@Punatik Yeah, no kidding. So, I tested my setup, my ear buds, my mic, everything. I got ready to do the reaction and POOF. No audio, no mic. Panic set in. Grabbed a different headseat, reconfigured the mic. I had changed my layout from 4K to 1080P and did 2 test videos before. So, then when I tried to upload it, RU-vid would not save it. So, I took it in Premiere and saw that it was weird, like a 1080 video stretched to 4k, so I had to reformat it down to 1080p... all while panicking and trying to get it done ASAP to put it out... sigh. Imagine if I had not prepared.
I've never seen your channel before, but I've subbed before you get into the song, for your humour and facts. Renegade, age 71, I also love Led Zeppelin, so your knowledge of their music is a further draw.
I first thought about Bon Jovi.. Wanted dead or alive..then Hotel California...then Beatles ...then Aerosmith...then... Chris' father plays the guitar and he's a good ol' skilled MF!
Randomly came across this review a year later and binged it in one sitting. Thanks for taking the time to roll through NAE'BLISS. Some dead-on observations - our vocalist Evgeniy counts Ville Valo of HIM as one of his inspirations, and there is absolutely also an overlap with visual kei bands, Versailles for sure being one, as well as the Gackt-era Malice Mizer. Nice pickup. This album was quite experimental for us, and like you pointed out, the previous work was much closer to true power metal, though we've always leaned into other genres, and continue to do so. Happy to hear you enjoyed the songs - we dropped a new single "FIRESTARTER" three days ago, so do check it out. And many thanks again for the review🤘!
Oh My God, this is so embarassing. I musta been into the cocktails a bit too much. I sang my ass off, and oh no. So cringe-worthy.... see the extremes I go to for you all!
That necklace is, as someone else mentioned, depicting a KKK member being hung. A little more info though is that the actor who is wearing it in the video actually made it himself. I was lucky to actually have the chance to briefly talk to him earlier. Thanks for a really great reaction. 😁
What an amazing see reaction!! Great job bud!! I really enjoyed getting such a deep take on lyrics and symbolism. How fun! Passionate RENegade here and obviously part of our obsession with REN is his lyrics. They are so freaking amazing! Every single time! Can’t wait til you dive deeper into the rabbit hole. I know you’ve done twelve but there are a million more it seems! Ren has changed our world in so many ways and saved so many people! Thanks again!
Yeah, I struggle with my own demons which keep me from posting as much as I want to. I'll see what I have reacted to and then do some new ones. I even thought about doing a Hi Ren reaction after a year of listening to it and see how it his me now. But, I listen to it every day, so I know how it hits me.
My assumption is he is stretching out his hand to help the other so aiding in his resurrection. Re the number I posted on Chris’s vid what I thought this meant but that was a guess too
The chord progression is actually the same as the opening sequence of 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps' by The Beatles. Great reaction, this is a very deep song which you have to watch a few times to really appreciate. It will also sound amazing on any playlist.
Thanks for reacting 😀. Ren writes all of his own lyrics and produced his verse (but not mixed mastered, engineered). The video is amazing. I love the music and vocals more. It has an 80s southern rock feel to me in parts.
Wow AM! So much to say to you. 4.30am here in South Wales and unable to sleep, I was scrolling through my YT sub feed and you came up. I'm here listening to your dulcet voice and it is lulling me to sleep. All this to say, I know you started the video by saying you were having a bad day but if it is of any consolation, you have helped someone tonight/this morning. Thank you. So very much appreciated. Wishing you a better day tomorrow.
