I keep rewinding just to hear specific deliveries- Natalie's sort of nasally, almost stuck-up voice fits her perfectly and I love how she gets more raspy when she's upset, and Henry sounds so sweet!! You both did amazing! 💛
Thank you so much for your lovely comment! I didn't audition for the Australian tour, no. I'm kind of out of the theatre scene now (don't have any representation) so not really advised of these sorts of auditions anymore. Plus, I feel like Wicked isn't the type of show that casting agents pluck someone from obscurity to do - usually they're seeking people who are on the circuit!
Ahhhh... thank you RU-vid algorithm. Eventually it'll show me every musical theatre video that's ever been posted :D Great effort Emma! I've seen (I think...) nine Elphabas in Australia and the US and you'd fit right in amongst any of them. Great riff.
I love these videos! Good job on defying gravity. I’m curious, do you have any videos of NOMTW? I’m curious to know how they did the bubble for Glinda!
As this wasn't a full scale production (with B U D G E T), we had to be a bit clever with things. The theatre didn't have a fly so we used a scissor lift for Defying Gravity and a similar sort of thing for the bubble. Lots of lighting creativity came in to play a role in hiding that sort of stuff!
@@NairAthul I think perhaps this commenter is from the UK (given the reference to Rachel Tucker and Alice Fearn). In the UK I'm pretty sure they use British accents for Wicked (not sure if it's for some or all of the characters though). Is that correct @Do You Hear The People Sing ?? I do understand how they might assume that in Australia we would do the same and use a neutral version of our own accent, but Aussie productions tend to use the accents of the original versions of shows. So for Wicked, we play it with American accents and for Matilda, we play it with British accents etc etc. Hope that clears things up! :)
Hi! This is a video of me in a regional production of Wicked here in Australia! I haven't uploaded the full song due to copyright. But there are more snippets from the production on my channel. :)
I have known about your videos for 2 years now and am still waiting to see your name on the National Tour or Broadway! Honestly, you are one of the best Elphabas I’ve ever heard! You are up there with the top ones of our time! You remind me of Jemma Rix!
@@nasirroper4011 the rights to Wicked were released in Australia a few years ago. Anyone can buy the rights and out on the show. There have been a few community theaters that have put on productions. As of right now it is the only place in the world that is allowed to so amateur productions.
I really like how low key your projections are yet they're still amazing. Ffs those at 1:00 are flowers yet the lighting designer find a way to piece it to the scene!
