Ace did come up with some really cool guitar Riffs and rhythms for KISS,... And I really enjoy aces guitar playing in kiss, but he's nowhere near as good as Eddie and he didn't teach Eddie anything. I like Angus Young a lot. I love his guitar playing. I love Malcolm Young's rhythm but they're not as good as Eddie. Steve via, malmsteen, Joe, Brad Gillis, Eric Johnson,... Paul Gilbert,.... Kirk Hammett, it's okay. No one has to be the exact same. There's all types of different styles. Ace just gets caught up with himself sometimes.
So, if no one knew Eddie yet then how and why would Ace have just randomly seen, noticed, or even cared about an unknown young guy back then?? This is a complete lie and bs story from Ace. Btw...Ace can't play for crap anymore. He was always very sloppy.
1. Topper Headon was a heroin addict (a habit a lot of famous jazz musicians had, because he is a jazz drummer). 2. Pearl Harbour was Paul Simonons girlfriend and then wife. 3. Terry Chimes who played on their first record took over for Topper, then he quit after the internal problems arise. Pete Howard took over for him in 1983. Other than that you got the movie right ;P
Never liked kiss. Loved Van Halen however! Two concerts and all their albums! Not saying you’re a liar Ace. But if true, the student clearly became the teacher! R.I.P. Edward
Prior to getting signed.. Van Halen was in NYC to make their demo funded by Simmons. This may possibly explain why Edward was at a Kiss show at MSG. But c’mon Frehley.. the rock-n-roll world isn’t that stupid to believe your drunk talk!
Edward Van Halen lived in Pasadena California before he was famous. How would he have been in the pit in Madison Square Garden in New York City watching KISS? From what I've read Ed could barely afford to put gas in his car before he got a record deal. Even after the first tour The band owed Warner Brothers $2 million. I doubt he was taking trips to New York City to see KISS OR FOR ANY OTHER REASON before 1978. If Ace was going to lie at least say Ed was sitting in the pit at the Forum in LA.
