Peak tourist season ends latter September. October-November is considered Shoulder while December-April is off-season. Things begin to crank up again starting in May.
How in the heck can you have a civilization for as long as the Romans have had and only have five good emperors? The best one, in my opinion, was the first holy Roman Emperor, Charlemagne the great!
this helpful, thanks. We would love to visit Italy but honestly if its this crowded, not sure I want to. I suppose at least these tourists are not doing too bad but most people are strapped for cash.
How magnificent the architecture & statues are. Thank you for bring me for a walk through Rome City. There are even Statues on the building tops! I’d definitely have binoculars with me for a tour such as this , to be able to see more detail in the architecture
Italy has got to be one of the most beautiful countries in the world. I am thankful that unlike some Middle Eastern countries, I am able to visit and walk in the steps of my Christian brothers and sisters
Thank you for a great walking tour of beautiful Rome! And also has a "rusticana" i.e. beautiful countryside! Far more crowded than when I was there in 1969 and even more expensive though it was even expensive back then! I have lots of great photos that I took that I cherish to this day! Arrivederci bella Roma! ♥🍷
Frankly, I've never understood this belief that one can only travel to Europe in summer. Of course you're going to be there with every Tom, Dick, or Harry who had the same idea. Not to brag, but when my parents wanted to travel, they hauled my sister and I out of school and we went. November, February, or April, it didn't matter. The tourists had gone home. The tourist shops were closed. Local residents were a lot more accepting of us because we were on our own. We didn't wait for hours in line to see the Mona Lisa or the Crown Jewels or St. Peters. Most Americans travel for 10 days to 2 weeks. Your kids will not fail their SATs if you take them out of school in the 5th grade. Leave the game boy at home. Leave your cell phone in your pocket. Stay away from McDonalds etc. See one big thing each day and try one new food too.
I know Rome well but has been some years since I was there....was considering a return next year and to be honest this view of the streets in September is a real turn off. That does not even look like the city I remember. What a shame. I will pick another city in Italy.
I used to be a tourist in my younger years. Watching the crowds while enjoying your video makes me feel like I am there! Thanks for the captions to tell us what we are seeing. I was last there when I was 10. Am 78 now so was reliving my exciting youth!
Hi my fav YT. Rome is crowded which shows its importance and how much it was missed during the the Lock ups we all endured!! You are definitely skilled at moving through the crowds and never missing a beat of this eternal city. Thank you so much you are truly blessed with what you do and thanks for the journeys we are fortunate to experience with you. Grazie mille ❤️✌️🇦🇺🇦🇺🇮🇹
i have some italian friends and they tell me the govt there has just changed the law so that the church are not allowed to guilt you into leaving therm your house when you die.......they can only accept 50% of it now with the new law im afraid the church in italy are just a second mafia
Last visited Rome in Summer 2014 on a cruise ship excursion. It didn’t seem quite so crowded then but it was incredibly hot. The rep who escorted us there said the coach would have water for us for the return journey. Then they changed the coach and the new one didn’t. We made them stop at a service area on the way back so people could get water. I’m not sure when is the best time to visit, but certainly not in mid-Summer.
I don't like crowds. I don't even like Florida when the snow birds swoop down and crowd out everyone else. I feel sorry for the people in popular tourist spots. It's no fun being overrun by strangers.
I am sure the people of Rome are very annoyed by excess tourism……just as I am where I live..I cannot even visit a nearby town unless the weather is miserable..that is the only thing to keep them away…
The crowds are just too much. Especially at Trevi. It makes it hard to enjoy. Do you ever wonder how many languages are being spoken there at one time? That is cool. Thanks much. I am always interested to see what is happening in Roma.❤🥰
I was there this time last year ('23) it was very crowded also. Still, I wouldn't have missed it. Romans are such friendly, welcoming people and what can I say about the Eternal City. Every step is living history.
