A wonderfully enlightening and Info packed speech. Thank you. As someone who has been in and out of Recovery and Healing for 30 yrs, I can say, from my own Experience, that the Native Way of Healing, that Carol speaks about here, is by far the Best that I have ever experienced 1st hand. And I’m not even Native, my wife is. In the last 6 months, I’ve been to 2 Indigenous Led Retreats, that they have been amazing, at reconnecting me to my Spirit and my Self, and Community. Thank you Carol for making these Programs accessible. They work !! 🦅

A very important subject to discuss and become educated about. I suspect that infractions often begin innocently but, unfortunately, things can escalate unintentionally. It is paramount that we professionals are extra sensitive to these seemingly innocent interactions lest they truely escalate. The panelists were very good but i would have liked to see a male and/or trans participant to share their perspective.

What? 50:01? You don't need to speak about the traumatic event to process the trauma??? The evidence for Prolonged Exposure for PTSD is robust (which explicitly revisits the trauma) and THE highest level of evidence with meta analyses, cultural groups, types of trauma, repeated traumas, and childhood sexual abuse. Prolonged Exposure which involves INFORMED consent to revisit the trauma in explicit detail is profoundly effective and is the HIGHEST Strongly Recommended treatment (of 2) by the American Psychological Association, the VA, Department of Defence, and SAMHSA! You do know that non-disclosing PTSD treatments like EMDR have NO evidence for treating military (active or past) trauma - right? Maybe the College should have people speaking who actually know the research evidence? Kitchiner, N. J., Lewis, C., Roberts, N. P., & Bisson, J. I. (2019). Active duty and ex-serving military personnel with post-traumatic stress disorder treated with psychological therapies: Systematic review and meta-analysis. I watched this talk when it first aired and took away some insights. I watched it again today and appreciate even more of the depth of analysis and thought that has been packed into the presentation. Thank you for articulating so concisely the history, the theory, the current day experience and possibilities for change, that are central to DEIB.

I truly appreciate this content. It is rather unfortunate that most social workers are not open to acceptance/change; it is indeed ambiguous (especially those at the top hierarchy). Though there is constant push for change, equality, equity, anti oppressive practice and etc, some workers overlook it. Social work is one of the most toxic fields in the helping profession. It's rather a shame!
