Saw him first in 1990 in Greenville SC and last in 2018 at the Ryman. Man, John could work a crowd, just like he did in this one. I've been in a band for years, and we play Lake Marie, Illegal Smile, and a few other tunes from time-to-time. I always look forward to playing/singing a Prine tune when I see it on the setlist. What a national treasure he was
I love all kinds of music. I didn’t know about John Prine until recently. I have tried to listen to all of his songs on RU-vid. It made me sad to find out he was already gone. Very few artists have moved me to tears with talent. Those that have it, have it and it is known immediately that they have it.
as good as this is and its pretty fucking good on scarlet kimock cant even play with the intensity needed for that song its like the band is waiting for the driver to get his ass in gear kimock is great but he takes too long to hit intensity level specially with the philzone there
Godbye,, Iam for jhon long song and beautiful shout ,never of dead to mozik ,thankyou be one i like guitar and melody which yours packing for bass and memory scenario ,,,godbye jhon, godbye,,,,,,
Steve Kimock is like a sunrise blooming for all the world to see and I remember seeing him live with a friend who later told me that watching him you felt like you were watching the greatest musical performance being played on earth at that moment
Never gets old and love they go out on Ashamed. We're going to fly to Connecticut (where I was born, now in Florida) JUST to see these guys. I will not leave this Earth until I see Deer Tick live!. Thanks for this.
My best friend turned me on the John. Prime 19 eighe's Jimbo. I'm just gonna cast it and he goes. The sky looks just like you. He sounds like you when you play. He says I was totally amazing. So the head by itself makes you listen to it and so I am. I have to sit there and I couldn't believe that I'm loud and that for a long time. I played his songs all of the Florida and different places. In a and I'm my best friend. He got it. You want the American song festival and that kind period in the 80s. Come in second behind Jim Carnes and yeah, him and I were supposed to visit Kenny Rogers and Nash and we're gonna cut. Some of his songs, my friend's song and suck a couple of nice songs. And I wasn't bored and used in the Leo high on know. I flew summer. Summer was over from the Palm Beach club. I was flew back to Toledo. He's supposed to pick me up. Yeah, I'm horny. I killed the car accident and I got naked. And so I went kind of took a shift to drugs and alcohol for a long period of time. I got me a Martin though and started to dig it up. Again. Goes back to my great hill. Champ brand and great hill down burgers. And I don't have an identity me up again. Bye.

In Spokane Washington he was on tour doing Lost Dogs Mixed Blessings tour. I was there. Rode the elevator with him. He said “ think you’re gonna like tonight’s show”. Man o Man. I Love and miss you J.P.
I won tickets to see him in Snowmass Colorado, following the concert ran into to him outside out accomodations and got to visit with him. My husband told him he was hoping to hear the Late John Garfield Blues. John sain he should of yelled it out. Next time he played in Denver, he did sing it that time. What an amazing talent and gift to us all. Miss him so much.
😊 From Speed of the Sound of loneliness, Paradise, Jesus the missing years, Wish you all the best, Egg and daughter night and to the favorite Sunmers End. I love John Prine because when he gets to Heaven hes gonna have a Vodka and Ginger ale and smoke a cigarette nine miles long a quote from his song When I get to Heaven.....I love the fact tha he's the most rare poet with the soul of a special man who I hope to meet when it's my time. I learned of him through my pappa who I love and miss so much as he passed away 12 years ago. Now I do what my dad always wanted me to keep doing is to play my guitar as I have a beautiful new guitar and am learning to play covers of his music. I have Paradise down so far and look forward to learning many more.
I fell in love with John's music the first time I heard it. I immediately put meeting him on my bucket list. Sadly, there was no time for that to happen. When he was ill, I completely focused on his health reports. I have never been starstruck before or since, but I wept when he passed. It was some time before I could listen to his music again. In fact, it is still a bit difficult. He touched me deeply. Thank you, John. I hope you are singing for all the souls in heaven. Now, that would be an awesome reward for them. R.I. P.
True for me also. About the only celebrity death I ever cried openly about. Something about that combination of wise touching human poetry, great humor, musicality
I live near Nashville and he was at Vanderbilt Hospital where I had all my babies. Followed the story closely and since they are a hospital of excellence somehow thought he would pull through. The day I heard one of my best friends died, another friend called and said simply "John died" and we cried together. Loved him since 1971.
If you watch, he has a pick holder behind him, he always has it, it is like a dog or something...but if you watch, somebody attached uhhh...."Junk" to it!! Lol!!
One night on Dead Air radio show I heard a cut by Phil and Friends..... Steve Kimock on guitar...... Man it blew my socks off, and I was in bed! After a particularly strange flurry of sounds, Phil said "some kinda wise guy, huh?..... it was great to see him playing, thanks so much....
