Very nice sound. I have a P Maruriat System 76 II Soprano sax. I've had it for a few years now and I've been extremely happy with it. I like it more than my old Yamaha 62. It plays with a beautiful warm and smooth sound and it can play with extreme volume also. I got the gold lacquered version because the vintage dark lacquer version sounded too dark and muffled to me. They made these System 76 saxes with a larger bore for that bigger sound, but it sounds more focused (better singing quality) and smoother than their other models. Avoid getting the version 1 of these saxes because there were mechanical problems with those. My soprano came with a perfect setup... no leaks and after three years it still has no leaks... it easily plays down to low Bb. I ordered it from Musician's Friend, so it came from the factory perfectly set up. When I listen to more expensive soprano saxes, they don't compare to the sound of my P Mauriat soprano.
Sounds lovely to me. What I think is lost on most people is that in an ensemble the subtle tone differences are lost on most listeners. It mostly comes down to engraving, enjoyment playing a finer instrument and bragging rights! Thank for your video. Very informative!
Sure it is a very quality sound. I would like to ear alto sax and soprano r1 how it response. This is something I would like to own. You do very good as saxophone player . I love the way you explain everything. Thanks a lot.😅

Man - you make every sax you play sound great. I had an R and C soprano silver plate. Sounded like a modern Conn- incredible but I didn’t play Soprano that much so moved it on in the end. Everyone should give Rampone and Cazzani a chance.

My great-great grandparents came over from Sweden in the 1890's. I know my dad knows a few Swedish phrases but he doesn't speak it fluently. My grandmother spoke Swedish pretty well.
Most of these horns are mass produced in China, and then a "manufacturer" will tweek the horn, and put their name on it. I'm not a big fan of Cannonball, or most of the Chinese horns. They might look nice, but some other subtle qualities are missing.... just my opinion.
The mk6 still sounds better. Rounder, clearer tone. Even throughout, no glitches, with a centre forward projecting resonant tone. 36 sounds oggly in the low end, a technical term, lol, which means it does not move and project to the centre and forward. The 54 and the 36 in both designs sound slightly stuffier.
The Mark 6imjo is over hyped and become a"badge of respect' . As if you l to say you're not"goes off you don't own one .i think the"right sound" can be found in any brand modern or vintage... You might prefer King Conn Ramponi Yamaha Custom Z .. Delmrt Ref46 and actual SBA....
