Heyyy HR! 307 N. Goose Creek Blvd #2556 Goose Creek, SC 29445
Sonja, thank you for sharing your resources and your divine journey. Timeka, thank you for keeping us informed and all the work you put into these interviews. Great discussion!
This was a great video. I am an HR Specialist working on my Master's degree. This type of content is helpful because I can use it in my role today. I proposed to add a few new benefits to our packages, such as a Health Savings Account. I am searching for a wellness perk, such as a gym or health membership. I will lead my first benefits enrollment in November of this year. This definitely prepares me to think broadly.
I am still learning in all areas. I understand that. People tell me that I know and understand many aspects of the workplace along with HR. There is always room to learn more.

This brought me back to when a good friend of mines was killed by her abuser when she went to go meet him alone with her 3 small children. Im glad you were able to get away from your abuser and that you are okay and doing well for yourself. Thanks for sharing.
Well at least this is good news. If everyone is so equal then maybe the best person for the job should be hired and not, do we have enough of this or that kind of person. Bad things happen when people are hired for the wrong reason.
America is 59% white. Microsoft workforce is 53% white. Its board of directors are as diverse as they come. i think Microsoft is doing a pretty good job on its own on diversity. Companies, any companies, whether it's the local grocery store or Microsoft should take a neutral stand on any social matters. Why do they need to take a stand one way or the other on BLM? They are not there for social justice. They are there to make money, just like the local grocery store owner. If I own a local grocery store, I would steer as clear as I can away from social justice matters for the sake of the business. IF someone asks me on my stand on BLM or gun control or abortion, my response would be, "I have no positions. I'm here to make money and serve people of all kinds and belief systems." You sound like a person that would nag me about my DEI stance and when I don't give it, you feel insulted. I, too, would have fired you, just like the company that fired you.
Quite inconveniently, a grocery store or a bigger corporation, are all part of society. ALL the employees, every single one, make up a modern society, and are part of those pesky "social justice matters." Unfortunately, employees don't exist in a vacuum. Occasionally, things affect us, getting in the way of us solely being a warm pair of hands.
DEI will cost a company millions per employee, White people can sue for discrimination because DEI is 100% racist and Black employees can sue for creating a hostile workplace where they get segregated from their fellow employees. Microsoft didn't want to be sued out of business
DEI is racist and discriminatory and it hurts black people because it segregates them and holds them back from opportunities and in some cases costs people their lives. It is a horrible practice.
ANYTHING that forces EQUITY is evil. Equity is NOT equality. BTW, these DEI programs are toxic poison to the workplace, not to mention they could be dangerous when they seep into professions such as airline pilots, air traffic controllers, medical doctors, etc. Stop with all of this focus on race and just focus on the best person for a job. If you want a more diverse workforce, how about encourage "diverse" groups to focus on education instead of passing kids who can't even read in the name of more forced EQUITY. We are heading straight toward Idiocracy.
Watch the video & you’ll see it’s not a focus on race. My channel is all positivity. Please take your negative comments to another channel. Have a good day. 💜
I've been ghosted by enough potential jobs after revealing my simple misdemeanor that at this point i just assume any listing that mentions passing a background check is a waste of my time. I wish jobs would specify whether they're just looking for felonies or if they reject anyone with any kind of record.
I'm seeing this happen to many progressive programs that came out of the pandemic era. We were heading into a great direction, but all these execs are now trying to back peddle everything, wanting to go back to how things used to be because that's what makes them comfortable. Meanwhile, the rest of us are left uncomfortable and in some cases, scared.
Thank you for always addressing the difficult conversation. I really appreciate your ability to speak to HR from a business perspective while keeping the employee at the center of the conversation. 🙏🏾
I try to stay away from controversial topics but this one got me in my feelings . I was truly hoping my predictions during 2020 was wrong. Especially with these household company names😞
Just gotta pay attention & that’s why I’m heavy on MY career path, not what these companies have to offer bc they can easily derail your career path smh … you’re so welcome! 💜
Getting ready to interview for HR Director position and couldn’t find HR specific advice until I found this video. Thank you for this info. I feel more confident now
This is what I’ve been wondering lately. I’m not seeing very many openings in my specialty (comp and benefits) in my area. So maybe pivoting to a generalist would be a good idea? There are also a lot of hr manager and business partner roles out there, but they like to see generalist experience; from what their job postings say at least.
I had an interview with a talent acquisition specialist month ago. I still haven't heard anything from them whether i got selected or not. I followed up after but no response yet. Does that mean that they are still planning strategically or are not interested ??
Cannot get an independent contractors license if you have a felony, I’m sorry, but it does not work like that. You are feeding these people lies. I am from a construction background this I know for a fact.
What’s your failing to tell people is you because of California state law you will be hired before the background check is actually completed and once that’s completed and it comes back as a felony you will not have that job any longer so don’t get excited too fast people you’ll get the job, but once they run the background, there is no more job and that’s just reality coming from California
