The train now approaching platform 3, doesn’t exist to stop, due to a signal between Paddington and Ealing Broadway. Please stand back from the platform edge.
This brought back memories of my childhood in the 1960s/early 70s. My Grandparents lived near the footbridge just after Queensbury station and my brother and I would stand on the top of the bridge and wave at the drivers. It was exciting when they waved or tooted back. The bridge wasn’t covered in those days and as we got older, we could peer over the top. There was a trip cock on the side going towards Queensbury and we used to watch for it to lower accompanied by its distinctive hiss. Of course this line was part of the Bakerloo back then.
Does anyone still have a copy of the original Jubilee Line Extension pre-opening cab preview video? I remember it was very popular back then and it was in RealPlayer format.
A good video and I like that you tell us the station names but it would be good if you gave additional information such as what is the line joining from the left between West Ham and Stratford.
My local station 5 minutes walk away. Because it curves towards the junction I can see the trains from my window. Excellent video always enjoyed waiting for the Euston train and watching all the others. Also came through 50 years ago when at uni in Coventry.
Oh wow. This line passes within half a mile of my flat in Watford and I can see it out my front window as it curves towards the Junction station. It was lovely to see such an excellent video with all the trains described. And as a bonus the new flats by the station which I can also see out my window. Thank you very much I enjoyed it mightily!
I’m not a massive fan of London Underground and I don’t really watch this kind of content but seeing this made me think that it must be really cool to drive these trains!
