Just so people know, I'm seeing it in a ton of covers, when you get to the jam part after the harmonics at around 1:28, the end of that riff goes 2-1-0 on the low E instead of 3-2-0. Otherwise, nicely done!
@@santiagoruiz3086 I am definitely a beginner Ive played drums all my life but now I want to start to try to make music and record stuff hence picking up a 6 and 7 string guitar. I used to be able to move around quite a bit on the guitar years ago then I stopped and I feel like I lost it all :(. This video was just too awesome brother I cant stop watching it. You’re too clean with it. I am going to study this, learn it, or at least learn my favorite parts of the song. I’ll make sure to send you a video!
There are minor inconsistencies, for example. At 1:05, I think more stress is on the higher strings on the original album. At 3:00, I think you need to let the low notes sustain while you pick the 7 string stabs.
Thank you so much for this series of videos. I'm seeing now you've pretty much covered the whole Train of Thought album. This is going on my mental list for albums to learn from. This will be a good few months if not a year or two of solid practise to get it sounding passable. +1 new regular viewer.
I've learned the begining of this song like 5 years ago and couldn't move forward because of the wrong tabs. Now it's way easier with yours. I'm going to continue learning.
Probably the most accurate transcription of the solo that I've found. Thanks to you I'm gonna try to finish learning this song by the end of the month ;)
Amazing cover man <3. I'm trying to learn the song by following your cover in slow mo. Any tips on the stretch at 1:43 please? My hand hurts so much when I try it :(
When talking about Dream Theater, often people overlook what an incredible piece Stream of Consciousness is, easily one of Dream Theater's bests songs, but also of the genre. Te guitar works in here hook you up from one section to the next like butter. Increadible dispplay of voice leading, theme and repetition, theme and variations... it goes through some of the most impressive compositional skills along with some Pettrucci's arsenal of acrobatics. Quite honestly is a complete display of team work as well. muah* chef's kiss
