Big Guy Rides is a channel dedicated to theme park and amusement park reviews, POV's, and rankings specifically from the point of view of larger riders. In today's world, large riders may wonder if they will be able to ride certain attractions when planning a trip, you have found just the right place! While our experience is not perfect, we aim to showcase what it is like for larger individuals visiting these parks around the world. For reference, our rider is 6'4" and roughly 295lbs.
@@stardustgirl2904 they have over the years but recently they actually started taking some rides out and I hope they continue to invest in this property!
Great video Big Guy! Lagoon is awesome but the >$100 cost for a single day adult pass seems a bit much. As the only park in Utah they can get away with it. The season pass which costs only about 2x that is the way to go. Which of course is no help for out-of-state/infrequent visitors😒
Thanks for watching! I agree they price pretty high. Especially compared to a place like silverwood, who is a very similar size park and also run independently (they charge about $60 daily there). Lagoon is a great park but certainly over priced
My favs, were Tilt a whirl, Teacups, Scrambler, Music Express, Old white roller coaster, Dracula's castle, Merry-Go-Round , Terror Ride, Swings, The Hammer and funhouse and a few others like the wet rides, like Rattlesnake rapids. Haven't been in several years, didn't realize they had so many new rides, heard of a few of these newer ones but not all. Haven't heard of the bat, spider?, Odessey? just reading through the comments, I know most of my favs are gone. ☹The Dutch are awesome ride designers.
We know Hershey Park was once looking to acquire Silverwood, and what's not to say that Wild Waves would be the ideal choice for building a nice compact park. I think there's a lot of room here for a better themepark to be built here.
Also rumors that herschend ent who owns Dollywood and SDC have looked at purchase of silverwood as well. Really anyone other than premier I think could run it better. The pacific NW is in need of another better park! Thanks for watching
lol, the tin lizzy looks busted these days. When I was a kid in the late 80's it was fun to drive them around since the steering worked and I was like 8
I think Wild Waves could use some investment. Many of the rides are a bit outdated and I hope Wild Waves gives the theme park the love it deserves. Nice and solid video
Agree it def needs some upgrades but the location makes it such that it’s out of the way for a lot of people. However being that there isn’t another major park up in that area until you hit silverwood, WW has the chance to dominate if they wanted to in that market
@@Bigguyrides nope I honestly would rate it the worst of the rides I went on when I was there last It was kind of a scam And also the Diamondback is one of the best rides I highly recommend riding it next time if it’s open
AWESOME video, thank you! SFDK is my local Six Flags Park as I live in Vallejo. I ❤ SFDK, BUT, I am NOT a fan of their version of Batman. My favorite version of Batman is the B&M floorless one that I've ridden at both Six Flags Great Adventure back east in Jackson, New Jersey as well as down at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, CA in the LA area. Medusa 💚💜 is my FAVORITE coaster at SFDK overall, followed by Superman: Ultimate Flight. Joker looks fun too, but I haven't had the time to ride it yet. Sorry Kong & Boomerang were both closed when you were there. They're both AWESOME! 👍😎
Thanks for watching! I’m hopeful to return and get Kong and boomerang and the scrambler. I also missed a couple at CGA (grizzly & Woodstock) so I def need to return to the Bay Area
FYI, Mura Fury definitely can go 360, but from what I heard it's restricted because of the incident that happened in Oregon where one got stuck upside down for a long time.
Great info thanks for sharing. I went on the one in Oregon called AtmosFear and it was shortly after the incident and theirs too only goes 270 degrees now
Frontier City is really nothing more then a slightly better themed parking lot carnival, and that's unfortunate because it could be compatible to Silver Dollar City with a little bit of investment.
Yeah I agree! they haven't updated much since I was a kid in the 90s. With the exception of steel lasso... All the best rides from the 90s are still the best rides at frontier City in 2024. Log Ride ..Silver Bullet.. Wild Cat and diamondback. I'm shocked that all of those rides are still running today. It is cool taking my kids to the same amusement park that I always went to. But I agree with the guy in this video, it's a great family park if you are in the area. It's really a decent Park if every ride is open when you go. Seems like the diamondback is only open once every 10 times that I go there
as somebody who lives in colorado I can assure you that while that park is trash, it's our trash and we all love to dunk on it while spending a nice day in the city
*before all the other enthusiasts get on me about rock o plane and roll o plane - I realize traditionally the names of these are flipped however for some reason at Arnold’s park they had “roll-o-plane” sign located in front of the Ferris wheel style ride, and the “rock-o-plane” sign in front of the airplane style ride - not sure why they did this, but I stuck with the name they used at the park for each ride
We appreciate your support more than you know. Channel is about to go crazy next year I’m going to expand beyond just park reviews. Things like top rankings, nano coaster builds, etc! Excited for what’s to come, keep watching!
They need to bring back the Wild West Gunfight from way back in the day. There used to be a train towards the back of the park and “Bandits” would rod the train. Thought I’d add that the gunfight cowboys used to roam around randomly and a gunfight could happen without a moment’s notice
This is my local theme park. We live only 10ish mins away from it been going since I was one month old and I am 11 I highly recommend going in October there is something called the fall fest Adventureland. The fall fest is where 17 to 16 year olds get to be dressed up and they get in scary costumes and also it only happens at night but in the day everything is still all set up and you can go through like haunted houses and everything and during the fall fest I recommend riding the red Spinney ride/the dragon slayer you. would probably think it’s scary in line, but I promise you is not. It is the funniest freaking thing in the world. I love it’s probably like my favorite ride for some reason it’s less scarier than the green roller coaster/the monster I have been on every single ride there and for beginners here are some ages were recommended rides through in my opinion starting at 3 u can ride carousel shaken bacon, and tea cups shaken bacon 3-13 tea cups 3-80 carousel 3- any age starting at 5 Phoenix Derflinger flying Viking falling Viking tilt-a-wherl starting at 6 tornado outlaw and all the rest of the rides are good for all ages
I know this is silly, but I cried at the Harry Potter section. I loved those books and movies growing up and when I got the chance to go to CA in 2018, I wanted to go to Universal so bad just for the Wizarding World section. But my cousin, who I was staying with, convinced me to go to Disneyland. Disneyland was still cool, but it felt more ride driven, whereas Universal seems more experience driven. If I ever get the chance to visit CA again, I WILL go to Universal. I just need to make sure I have money for food and souvenirs. 🤣
Not silly at all! My sister loves Harry Potter as well and this was the ONLY place she wanted to make sure we for sure didn’t miss! So I get it! I feel that both Disney and universal are comparable in CA. I’ve been to both and they offer decent things for both sides, just as you said though food and souvineers can be very expensive!
I totally understand you not liking getting wet. Fury Of The Nile is my favorite ride, and I saw some rides I didn't know were there that I might get on if I ever go again. I'm not a fan of roller coasters and I don't go to amusement parks often. I've only gone twice in my adult life, one with my cousin and one with my nephew.
Thank you for watching! Yes I just don’t like to get soaked and then have to walk around the park to dry off 😂😂 however I’ve heard sometimes you don’t get too wet on fury of Nile!
@@ComicBookFanBoyPrime yes unfortunately it was closed on my visit and we do not do water rides as I hate getting wet so we skipped that one! Thank you for watching though!
I've always loved going to frontier city used to go almost every year with my family and it was always the best (also quick fun fact rolling thunder used to be called the brain drain)
Really thank you so much for commenting. I started this back in December and have found there is a huge community of coaster enthusiasts but not enough “professional” grade reviews! I own Arizona’s largest recording and photo/video studio - so this is right up my alley / and I love theme parks so thought why not combine the two! Glad you enjoyed. Happy riding! (New review drops every other Friday!)
I love these videos, being from the same region your content is even more appropriate for me than it would otherwise be. I can't wait to get to Lost Island, they're closed for the season currently but it's definitely on my radar for next year.
Thank you so much for commenting I put a lot of time energy and money behind creating these reviews for you guys! I’ve got over 25 parks waiting and ready to go! New review drops every other Friday! Happy riding!
As someone who has come here 15+ times, if you don’t focus on the actual ride experiences but more as a place to have fun with friends, it’s genuinely a blast. In my opinion sidewinder is the only ride here that’s better than “meh.” It’s really too bad it doesn’t open reliably, I could literally ride it all day. In fact I have.
@@IllegalPizza777 I agree, I grew up in Nebraska so came to Denver often, remember the old park even. It has gone downhill a lot in recent years, rumors have it the new SF Corp may be eyeing it for or after relocation, which I think would be beneficial
@@justimagine2403 watch again as Zambezi is the first ride in the video! We do not do water rides on my channel as I hate to get wet so no fury of nile for me but I mention it and show the ride in video also…
It certainly hits the mark for charming cute family park. Probably not big enough for large thrill seekers, certainly larger than a small kiddie park. I really enjoyed my time.
