My You tube channel has been about so long it has left college and become an adult. As such there are a range of interests and themes from through the years. I'm currently documenting the history and people of my home city of Glasgow, Scotland but remember to look at older videos for tales of travels, film locations from around the world and how I repaired and serviced my cars. If you like what you see, please remember to hit those like and subscribe buttons and share my videos with anybody else who may enjoy them. Dave
I followed everything that's being done here, but for some reason my cv joint doesn't want to come off I tried banging it with a hammer and lubricating it still can't remove it, what should I do?
If you follow the wall the other way my gran used to stay there…Wallace grove place(now an industrial estate) fond memories of sitting on that wall watching the trains ..I remember that big black shed too!
I watched the Apollo command module being delivered to the museum in 1971. The crate it was in was wider at the bottom (shaped like the module itself) and was just too big to get in the huge doors. Stonemasons were called and a huge sandstone block was removed to let the crate in. There was a huge crowd watching. The Apollo display opened a few days later. The command module had its hatch removed so you could see a mannequin in a space suit inside. You had to walk along the raised platforms you normally used to view the tramcars to see it. There was also a bit of moon rock on display in a perspex sphere. The queue to get in stretched round the corner into Pollokshaws Road. The gift shop (yes, as always, exit via the gift shop!) had great space items that appealed to my 8 year old self. Alas, I was skint! However the exact same stuff was on sale when I visited Kennedy Space Centre in 2015.
A very famous smudge quote wiz “ haud ma beer av jist clocked a moose“ purrfect patter…legend also says she geid Greyfriars Bobby a black eye in a bar room rammy, aye sadly missed but never forgotten, Slainte Smudge🥃🐈⬛🏴
I met Vincent Friell in 2007 when he owned a book shop at the bottom end of Byres Road on the very day he was closing due to the landlord r wanting the property back. He also played, “Pete the Jakey’s” dad, a Chris Howden in the episode, (Who’s the Daddy).
Can't believe it's been 35 years since me and my mates went to the garden festival and used BT's gigantic telephone with loud speakers so everyone could hear your conversations...some laugh it was.
Thank you for that video as i followed the all steps and realy helped me to do the same issue as you had. Only i had to find another video where the other guy commented that fiddly part with the removing the plastic pin holding the glass to the bracket. The job was very tough but i did it to the end properly 💪
I wired in 20 quid third party remote locking kit from eBay to the inside door lock/ unlock switch (takes 30 mins and is easy) and now when I remote lock the doors it does not deadlock so this can’t happen. It’s maybe not quite as secure if someone wanted to break in and was very determined, but I can live with a that.
I remember most of the things shown here on my visit as a 13-year-old and have always remembered how much I enjoyed it, great work putting this together and thanks for the flashbacks 👌🏼
We watched local hero last night on Amazon prime and it was a different version to what we remembered- this version last night was ponderous and boring and definitely was a different cut / there was no meeting between Burt Lancaster and the guy living on the beach and no romance between the oil guy and Stella/was I imagining it as we built the film up and showed friends but we all felt a bit well that was a bit slow
That sounds like a horrible version. A pivotal part of the film is when Mac declares his love for stella and offers Gordon the chance to take his car, apartment and job in Texas in exchange for Stella and his life in Scotland. I cant see how the film works in the version you saw.
this is crazy finding this video because back in the day i hated taggart, watching some boring cop show when i was younger was the last thing i wanted to do. I wanted to go clubbing and go out not sit at home, LOL Earlier this year i visited Glasgow and i remembered Taggart (not sure why, LOL) I've now watched up until Mark Mcmanus leaves and i've got to say that Taggart is easily one of the best TV series ive ever watched and these days i watch a lot of old TV.. thanks for this Video , very interesting.
Most likely imature young men. When they mature a little in the future and take their own children to the park, I'm sure they will feel ashamed of themselves.
I worked through this with no car experience- and got it done thank you! People have asked for bolt sizes - here you go in order of undoing: Door handle t30 torx Door bolts - 10mm standard bolts Inside handle bolt - t20 torx Lock fixing bolts on side of door M8 Spline The bit I found fiddliest was getting the plastic washer back into the window - I couldn’t get the inner compression part in at all. I too avoided the drill part - the lock is fitted facing upwards - you can just prise the bolt off with a screwdriver- works fine.
I’m 38 and I when I was 4 / 5 my gran took me to a gala day at Overton Park. I vividly remember a brass band playing and the stand painted a brilliant blue colour with gold trim. I have passed it many times over the years since and I’m fairly sure it was never painted blue ever again after that.
Great video. But technically if you count a railway terminal as a place trains stop at and can run no further, there were five railway terminals in the city boundary. The fifth was Bridgeton Central and that was closed in the 1980s when the railway was electrified and is the only electrified line closed in Glasgow!! Well worth looking into. There’s this charming little video stumbled across shows what it was like…the station is now totally obliterated but the frontage is now shops….. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-05AUsLLFTbo.htmlsi=V406mLcRi8W9OT40
Aye, Glesga born and bred. Loved Taggart. My dad used to drink with Mark in The Queens Park Cafe, he always his wee black and white collie dug called Tam with him. I met him a few times, lovely guy with a dry sense of humour. My dad attended his funeral at the Holy Cross Chapel in Govanhill. It was packed out. Most of Strathclyde Police turned up to honour Mark. Incredibly moving. Thanks for this.
Tell me why there are only 2 Taggart episodes and endless reviews. Put the series up for us to watch they are as good now as they were when they first went to air❤
