In December 2018 you said that Baltimore County has a large debt and then you went on to spend a lot of money in 2019 on nonsense. Can you please explain this action disparity?
@@schreinerste sure. First the Environmental Protection and Sustainability officer is a waste as it is redundant to the state agency. Second, there was a $80,000+ contract that was agreed to back in July that supposedly will help save the County money...basically a department financing consultant contractor. Third, the Diversity and Inclusion Officer position. Another LARGE waste of money. If it were a $30-40k position I would have less of an issue with it.
I'm from owings Mills and I'm a nice person, I was born in 2007 in owings Mills and I have lived there for 11 years, I moved to Northern Virginia in 2018.
This trail is a hidden gem of Owings Mills. Actually i hope it stays hidden so that it will not get spoiled. There are lots of detour trails off the main path. There is also a very challenging section for bikers or hikers with steep hills following the stream. Had no idea all this was pretty much right in my back yard.
It was devastating to see The Delaney Valley Apartments destroyed. They were made of beautiful stone in a beautiful community that had been there for many happy years. Many of the community’s seniors lived there. My grandparents lived there for years and we had a lot of lovely memories of that place. Now it is an overcrowded condominium nightmare that is hard on the eyes. Progress? Really?
Right, how many illegal alien and section 8 residents live in his neighborhood???? This one is against private property rights, wants to force private home owners to rent section 8!! The American citizen taxpayers of Baltimore county deserve better than this illegal alien advocate!!!!
I could have enjoyed this more if I were able to read the captions, and a get a better view of what looks like are some pretty nice photos of Baltimore County employees and the public. The video is too fast...slow it down a bit so that it can actually be enjoyable to watch.

What a nonsense ... no matter how much guns or ammo the guy brought in, a single handgun and one shot could have ended the assault. Anyway... without the possibility to defend oneself we have a flock of sheep on one side and a hungry wolf on the other side. Guess who wins...
I believe it when I recycled or put our garbage cans next to the curb and go to the pit at the central acceptance facility so if you make a document when I went to the baltimore county central acceptance facility in Cockeysville when the bulldozer pushing the trash at the pit.

It is wonderful that money is finally going to be spent on BCAS. Unfortunately, you still don’t get it (my opinion). Our tax dollars still being wasted, but now on a “New” shelter. Unless changes occur inside this new shelter, it’s just a pretty building. The kill rate still remains high, so let’s solve that. Let volunteers in to help, they want to help & are free of charge to you. Let professional photographers take pictures of the animals so people to want to adopt these animals, not pictures that make the animals look petrified as they do now. Your county residents are here to help & want to help. Why won’t you let them? Take a look at the Montgomery County Animal Services and Adoption Center. This is what you need to do in Baltimore County. In your virtual tour, here are some things noticed right away: The dog kennels are small, there is no drainage in the kennels, the meet and greet rooms are small if introducing a family & another dog, and there are no outdoor runs. This is what you need to be looking at: 1. SANITARY CONDITIONS - Immediately implement proper cleaning and vaccination procedures to control the spread of disease. 2. VETERINARY CARE - Provide necessary veterinary care to animals as soon as they arrive at the shelter. Follow American Veterinary Medical Association guidelines regarding euthanasia. 3. HUMANE TREATMENT - Stop the neglect of impounded animals and animals held on “administrative hold”. 4. COMMUNITY OUTREACH - Work to develop positive, working relationships with the community, volunteers, and rescue organizations. 5. ACCESSIBILITY - Make the shelter more accessible to Baltimore County residents by extending business hours and considering a change in location. Consult with experts in shelter design before breaking ground on the proposed $5 million facility. 6. ACCOUNTABILITY - Increase transparency and accountability. 7. RESPONSIBLE PLACEMENTS - Screen potential adopters to ensure that animals are going to loving, responsible homes. 8. PERSONNEL CHANGE - Hire qualified and compassionate personnel. 9. ANIMAL CARE, #1 - Put the shelter under the control of a non-profit organization with animal welfare as its main goal. In the meantime, make animal care the priority. 10. TRAP-NEUTER-RETURN - Accept Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) as a humane option for feral and community cats, and support the efforts of their caretakers. Until you change the staff & we elect a county executive that actually cares about animals & not just getting re-elected, nothing changes for these animals.
No individual outside runs for the dogs - cost saving measure but that means dogs will have to wait for staff to take them outside for exercise or bathroom breaks. I say staff because the shelter continues to decrease the number of volunteers who would be very capable of providing this much needed exercise and stress relief. It also appears the dog run area would only allow for one dog at a time off leash. This new shelter is nice but will only be a prettier place for the animals to die! Change BCAS!
S. Weaver wow...why are you so negative?? the new shelter is a GREAT improvement over the other, maybe you could volunteer and walk some dogs instead in front of your computer complaining constantly.
Baltimore County Animal Services, Carroll County and Anne Arundel County Animal Control are three of the worst shelters in the state. How about a challenge to fix these under performing, high kill shelters.
