Bloody superb ... caught you first time supporting Hayseed at Concorde 2 in Brighton ... cannot wait to catch you again. Will bring along a plethora of Hot Damn virgins with kms .. love you guys xxx
Great venue, been literally countless times. A tip about rail travel though - the venue is only a 10 minute walk from Burley Park station which is on the Leeds to Harrogate line. Less than 5 mins from Leeds on the train. Hope this helps
I’ve just googled it and it suggests it’s 25 minute walk from the City Centre which is still a reasonable distance, and away from City Centre facilities.
I think it could be a lot better than what it is, but I wouldn’t call it terrible, there’s just nothing round it and the traffic management lets it down. As modern arenas go my favourite one is Leeds AO arena, it’s just a great design in a great location. Do you normally like arenas or do you prefer smaller venues?
Worth noting that even though the website only says "large umbrellas" are not allowed, our small (purse-size) umbrella was not allowed in and we had to discard it.
It was OK, the best thing about it was the sound, the worst thing about it was the car park afterwards. It’s a shame there’s not more round it as it’s nice to have somewhere to go before the doors open. It would have also been nicer if there was a bit more choice of food on the top level as it was a bit awkward having to go all the way to the ground floor. Thank you for taking the time to comment 👍
Absolutely brilliant venue.Saw James there last night sat right at the back but feels more closer than the AO arena and the atmosphere is better 😊can’t wait to go back there again 🎸🤩👹James were fantastic 🎉
Could you advise what the security procedure involved please - we have some metal body parts. Are there body scanners or is it standard detector wands and pat downs?
For me it was a lovely bucket list opportunity…. and ticked all the boxes bar one which was that the seats were quite small. 6ft tall guy next to me was pretty cramped. Having said that, the Co op Live arena was well manned for assistance staff. Co op concessions were well equipped food wise and well priced. Some other concessions were selling chicken burger baps for £12.50 with flavoured fries a further £5.50.
Thank you for your comment. You were right the prices inside were reasonable for arena prices. I just wish there were more food options on the third floor. Please you had a great time 👍
The reason why we were up in the gods was that the ticket prices were more reasonable up there, I can’t bring myself to pay £150+ for a ticket when that can get you ten gigs at the grassroots level. In terms of was it worth it, I’d say yes, I thoroughly enjoyed the Doobie Brothers, and it was good to see the Eagles, although I’ve got to say that their performance was far too perfect in most of the gig. On balance I’m pleased I was there. 👍
@@icanseethestagefromhere yea, the price of some of those gigs is eye watering. Now I’d rather spend my money locally . Hmm yea, I saw a video that wings of Pegasus did, he did a comparison from two gigs and they were a little too perfect!
@andreasmith8204 I’ve seen the same video. The Doobie Brothers were working really hard. And their sound had an energy about it, where the Eagles just sounded perfect, but seemed to lack that energy about it.
@@icanseethestagefromhere yea, I don’t want the sound to be perfect, although I want it to be good, I want it to be of the moment, and that’s not always perfect. But it’s unique to that performance and I want that uniqueness!
Well Tony, you obviously don’t follow my channel as the majority of my videos are from grassroots music venues and grassroots musicians, ask any of them, and the promotors, and they’ll inform you how much I do to promote grassroots music. I do a show at the end of the month, why not check one of those out before you put such a crass comment. I await your apology.
@icanseethestagefromhere my point is, why put yourself through an awful experience...overpriced seats where you can barely see who is playing. Overpriced merch, overpriced beer etc. I know where I'd rather be.
@tonymaddison I put myself through that so I could do a venue guide, in the same way as I do venue guides for grassroots venues as well. I like to include everyone, because the more subscribers I get to my channel the more they’ll see how good grassroots artists, and venues are. I don’t like to be narrow minded like some people. As I said please check through the other videos on my channel, yes I’ve done a couple of arenas recently, but the majority of my videos come from small festivals and small venues, so please don’t waste time on me, and on what I’m doing. Concentrate more on what you’re doing, go out and support live music, wherever it’s played and enjoy life, and don’t try and drag people down. 👍
Would it not make more sense to review the festival once it has ended, the full experience and all acts (including festival headliner) then able to be considered.
I hear what you are saying, it’s just easier to review the festival during daylight as I don’t carry lights, if anything else happens after I’ve made the video I do insert that into the review, a good example of that is my review of the Ey Up Mi Duck Festival.

They were very good, well worth seeing. The film Love to Hate Nickelback looks at the hate they got, it’s quite an interesting take on it. It’s a good rock documentary and well worth watching if you ever get the chance 👍
Hey Roger. Where do you stay for festivals? Do you camp, glamp, motorhome or hotel ? Not been to a festival for a while, my camping days are well over!!
The Ey Up Mi Duck festival was only a 40min drive from home, and as it was only May I travelled in every day. I only tend to camp if the forecast is really good and it’s warm 😂. My ultimate aim is to get a small day van to use at festivals.
100% on your comment about the sound quality. Played guitar there with just a pedal board (no amp). The monitor kept cutting out, which made it impossible to play.
I actually felt sorry for both the bands and the organisers of the festival, it’s such a shame that a great small festival is let down by a poor PA. In my view it’s one of the most important things.
