Anyone who watches women’s college basketball has seen a recent ramp up in smack talk, hand gestures, cheap fouls, and even fights. That is a fact. It’s hard to believe that same trend isn’t at least somewhat present in women’s professional basketball. Forget the pay disparity and attention disparity between most of these players and Caitlin Clark. Just the environment itself has gotten less sportsmanship like and definitely worse then the men’s game. I don’t know if women are just frustrated at the lack of recognition and respect and taking it out by trying to be more ‘fierce’ like they perceive men to be. It’s sad. Women can be fierce competitors but if they’re going to take on the aggressive and violent aspects of many men in this world that is definitely unfortunate for sports and society as a whole.
They said the same thing when Tiger first came to the PGA Tour. And those guys are making big money to this day. KC will do the same for the WNBA. Bottom line, they're jealous. If it were me, I'd ride off her coattails.
