Nice first match, but your eye wasn't on the prize in the 3rd game... you allowed yourself to get destroyed by the 7s, maybe try to make some trades? or buy some Dev cards? Then losing the 5/4/11 to Brown was crushing. When that happened you had 3 spots to place a Settlement, and I would have chosen the 5/4/11, and I would have understood taking the 9/12 with 3/1 Port, but you chose the worst of the 3 (imho) which was the 10 Brick & Brick Port. It was difficult to watch because you usually play so much better than that. Well, I'm still on board for your future matches, and really excited to see you play some C&Ks with Seafarers like you mentioned!
Awesome! I watched this last night on your full vid. You really came out of nowhere with that -- I'm sure your opponents were expecting you to finish in last after the selections were over. I have 2 thoughts about it: First is that Yellow totally screwed up. There was zero pressure on them to get to the northern most island. They should have been spending all their resources to cut you off to the 9 Wood -- 3for1 Port. Then moved their ship over to beat you to the 5/9 island. After that, then focus on the northern island. Look at their set-up, doubling up on the 9 & adding a 3for1 Port is terrific (especially since they also have the Wood Port), but really getting the 9 Gold spot should have been critical to their progress. Stupid play (cocky play by counting you out?), and you capitalized! Second, regarding early game Devs, Year of Plenty can be an incredible game changer. I don't think YOP gets the respect it deserves in the early game. Most people get excited picking up a Mono, but then they don't use it til mid or late game. A YOP can be an early game "game changer" as you showed.
That was definitely a come from behind twin for sure! You're right, there's no way yellow should have let me beat them to that spot. They definitely thought they had more time than they did! Yes! yop can really make things happen,I prefer it more than mono because of it;s foolproof nature. I think we can all agree though, that the first dev card being a victory point is the pits lol
Sorry about your friend, enjoyed the show My feedback -- I started watching you because you are on CU (NOT Colonist which is hard to watch) and I really enjoy seeing Seafarers. I've now seen all of your videos. If you start playing C&Ks, that would be cool too!
@@TheCatanGod great! I hope to restart playing C&Ks (with Seafarers) with some friends in a week or so online, and I'll likely play some games vs random players too. If we happen to be in a match, I'll message you. Again, thanks for the great content!
