@@who-would-know no i mean that when its their feature they are just using all of those trombones for show. it sounds the same when its just an ensemble of them compared to when it looks like all of them are playing
The kid at the end deserves the hype up for the high A like, holy cow! The blue devils piccolo trumpets this year had difficulty hitting the high F most of their season, and for a highschooler to do it is incredible, amazing performance 10/10❤
As a member of this band(I am in that video somewhere, but you’ll never know where) I am very happy there is still videos about his solo. My brother was best friends with him, and he was chill with everyone in the band, basically he was an all around w.
could you transcribe a 2 minute show for all instruments? if you can please do imagine john lennon iroquois marching band? if not please do just the tpt solo
Usually the more instruments I transcribe the less accurate it gets lol but I could prob do the trumpet solo. May take a bit tho since I gotta get through a few shows from this year first
She says "Suta" at Measure 234. It's been an inside thing for a very long time at PR. Only people who are/were associated with PR knows what it means, and they're not allowed to share what it means.
Question, when you make these videos do you listen for the notes? Are you pitch perfect? Do you have true pitch? Do you already know the key that most of these instruments are in?
Yeah pretty much- i don’t like saying I have perfect pitch because I’m not always right lol but I use Musescore to write the transcriptions which lets you hear notes as you write them, so it’s really just about matching the pitch to what it plays.
@@who-would-know thanks, how can I get better at memorizing pitches and stuff like that? I can sorta memorize some piano pitches, but I've noticed it's a bit difficult when I try it with other instruments, I might hear a B on Piano (which I'm aware of is in concert pitch and tenor is in Bb) and I hear a C on tenor and I don't recognize it as well
@@zrxcoilfor me making music where you can hear the sounds different instruments make as you write it helps a lot bc it creates an association between the sound and the note, after doing it for a while you’ll just begin to become familiar with them
@@dargledarkthedestroyer I worded that badly, it still takes skill and technique to play high on a piccolo trumpet. It’s not a breeze to play high notes on but easier in the sense of note accuracy and tuning. I don’t own one myself due to price and my desire for other instruments like British cornets and flugelhorns, but I have played on pics at multiple occasions. I won’t argue with you because like you said, you own one, but I’ve had different experiences with them where playing higher isn’t necessarily easier, for me at least.
pretty sure this is competitive marching band :) this is part of their show that - yeah - are usually performed at football games, but aren't solely for hyping the audience (that's where stand tunes come in ooo) lol (from a competitive HS marcher)
Hey I’m the soloist, if i remember correctly it’s actually in the key of F# and that end is completely wrong (aside from my crack at the end), but overall got it
Is it really? The recording mustve messed with the tuning a bit bc i tuned the notes individually for the scales. Great job tho, that was such a good solo 👏
