Congratulations, you've come a long way since day 1 of your iRacing intro. Now comes the fun stuff you can now enjoy the fun tracks and the great car line ups to be had in iRacing. And the most important thing of all you're enjoying every part of it. Keep it up and LET GO RACING...ALOHA!!

Congratulations. Absolutely nothing wrong with using the driving line despite want to be professionals saying otherwise. There are both benefits and drawbacks from using it but more benefits in my opinion. I don't use it anymore but I recommend it for most users who aren't interested in learning every corner of every track.

Gona b "thatguy" i see in comments gt3 is being mentioned. Been iraci g for 7+ years. Mainly open wheel. Lately i hit the sport car series.24 Enduro is the goal. Started in gt3. Its not easy. I see a lot of low ir players really struggle and honestly should not b entering races. I recomend to build your way up to gt3. Even start with gt4 then gt3. Personally i went tc gt4 gt3. Taken all year and still feel i need another season in gt4. Its been a very exciting experience more fun than open wheelers. But i insist on baby steps.

Don’t be a sellout and use a driving line assistance to say you are out of the rookies. If you need that driving line you should be in the rookies. At the moment sorry you are being a poser who bought a sim rig

Very clean driving. Now try and practice without the racing line and train your eyes to see the meter boards and apexes if you want to go even faster. Congrats!

You'll find that the Mazda is actually a fun car to drive. If you make C class the advanced Mazda is usually a little cleaner. Though it is always fun to learn new cars.

Also typically 24 cars in the class D races now instead of 12 in rookies, so you'll get exposure to racing in traffic soon.

Congrats! Super glad you got out of the rookies! There's so many fun cars out there in iRacing that you will love to drive even beyond GT3's, so don't be afraid to dip your toes into all kinds of cars and races!

congrats on your D licence. I picked up on a comment made by him that was wrong through, the practice you were in before it started flashing to join the race is 100% not counted towards your SR. The moment you joined the race server it's being counted, though everything but the race is at a reduced rate - the 3m practice was at 0.5 & qualifying 0.35.

That spin on lap 12: If you are spinning on brakes, release more brakes. If that does not help enough, try a little bit of gas, like 10-15% or so and in time by feel. You need to move weight back onto the rears that are struggling to hold on. Think of a bottle with water and what it does when you slow its movement or add speed to it. Where the water moves, there the weight of the car moves. Generally more weight on the tyres adds grip to them, that is what downforce does. Adding weight onto tyres through aerodynamic pressure on the car. Congratulations on leaving Rookies. Not sure you are ready for it, but good luck learning a much harder and faster car like the Ferarri GT3 in D class

Congrats! If everyone took the same approach to iRacing that you are, Rookies wouldn't be so frustrating for people who are new to the service. Good on you for being careful until your skill matches your ambition. Enjoy driving some new, more exciting cars!

I’d highly recommend continuing to race in the rookies during your career. Higher split MX-5 races are some of the best on the service.

Team racing line! Definitely helps to learn the braking zones and not to overshoot and lock up the brakes! (: eventually you should ween off the line as you get familiar with the track (:

IRL driving lines are so much easier, tiny screens, even with the biggest multi monitor setup is just not even close to IRL. Any option that makes up for the inherent deficiency of simulators sorry if huge wall projectors is perfectly fine

Good job. You should try the GR86 cup imo i feel like it's a lot more stable in most situations and the car is more predictable.
@thepaisleyproject
@thepaisleyproject 3 дня назад
and this is where iracing gets real. I *highly* recommend going to the 86 cup next. It's not the cleanest series because its free, but that car is pretty good in relation to the real car minus some weird bounciness and tendency for grip roll in very tight corners. The car on iracing will teach you a lot about getting the maximum out of the car if you let it. The gt4s are also a good entry point, but are harder cars, and is VERY competitive. Great jump in for multiclass though. I would now recommend to turn off the racing line though, the fastest way around the track is not always what the line says, and will lead you to following the path rather than having the goal of making speed. I definitely stayed with it longer than i should have, but it does teach you some bad lessons, it has you braking too softly/early at the moment, from what I can see. Also from here on, i'd focus on building irating rather than safety rating. The idea being building the foundation of making speed, and taking the time to get good in the lower cars will make you that much better when you move on, and safer too! Simply being too safe will lose you some valuable time battling others, or learning to push the car, and can even make you MORE accident prone depending on the situation. Plus spending the time in lower classes will better prepare you for those higher classes, in that you will learn the lessons you need to where they won't be masked by the faster car's downforce/power. I made this mistake and it was one of the worst decisions I could make early on.
