Yeah i lived in one in Ashfield in 2016/17 when released from prison. It was an experience thats for sure when you come from a reasonably normal upbringing. Mental health issues like BPD, OCD, anxiety and depression along with undiagnosed paranoid and avoidance personality disorders got me in trouble with cannabis supply and cultivation, due to not being able to hold down a job for any period. Was married with children and a house and lost the lot. That started a decline that has only just ended recently now im in govt housing in a peaceful area. I ended up in the boarding house that i read about in prison i had read in the paper where someone with mental health issues stabbed a tenant, then when i got out and moved into the same one where he was stabbed, and actually met the guy who i read about in the paper that was stabbed. W had all sorts of dramas in there. But there were some quite normal people as well.
My father who has vascular dementia attends this program at Concord and loves it. He has never been in a gym before but he loves the machines and I think it is so important for him to have a new routine. It’s only been a few weeks but I think it has improved his mood, body awareness and ability to walk. The staff are amazing. There are so few regular programs available for people with dementia - this is a godsend. Honestly, there should be a strong medicine centre available in every suburb. It is outstanding.
WARNING ALL WOMEN! A male nurse displayed my vagina to a room full of men without my consent. I had gone to the hospital for a reason which had nothing to do with my vagina. I am absolutely and completely traumatised; day and night the flashbacks haunt me. I am a dignified women who has always been private about my body, even my fiance of 8 months at the time had not seen my private parts ever, as my body is a temple.I am Catholic. Being a white women, it seems the staff made the racist assumption that looking at my vagina without my consent was totally fine. I am forever traumatised. This abuse has not only given me severe PTSD, but I have told my partner that I will NEVER give birth as I not only do not want to go near nurses, the idea of a nurse looking at my vagina again is absolutely too traumatising to handle. This is a real tragedy as well, since I would make a kind and loving mother, but I am unable to give birth as I cannot bear the thought of any medical person seeing my private parts EVER again. Do NOT use Concord hospital, especially if like me you are a woman.
