I am using 90 pound vellum paper which costs about $17 for an 18 inch by 10 yard roll. I'm able to get sixty 9x12 pieces out of this roll. The paper is prepped for painting by applying a thin coat of yellow ochre or other faster drying oil. I have had no bleed through of the paint, and the paper provides a nice surface. You can buy Canson Bristol paper as an equivalent which saves the measuring and cutting time. Thanks for this video, Sergey. As a newer artist, I was inhibited in trying out new things because of materials cost. Using the vellum paper has solved that problem.
Very very helpful, yes, more portraits in polychromos! Having a light hand is very difficult to master, and creating color by layers ( not blending) is a very delicate procrss
How beautiful. Unfortunately Iwill never be able to see it in person. The crowds and noise would also send me into a claustrophobic panic. Thank you for sharing. 😊
