@@brtb3 I’m not coming to Night 2 because I’m going to my hallway at my school so I’m really upset about it because I really want to see night 2 and we’re you in Copenhagen yesterday to see all of the 3 Metallica movies exclusively?

Spectacular!!!... we are going this May (2019). How much did you boondock vs a campground? I am about to buy a generator and try to boondock as much as possible to save cost.
@brtb3
@brtb3 5 лет назад
Marty we mostly stayed at National Park and State Park campgrounds. Because of good weather conditions the State Park campgrounds were free of charges in May 2015 (gates were open, but no services). I can recommend to check our the policy of the Alaska and Yukon State parks for May 2019. It is also allowed to boondock in Alaska and Yukon and we stayed at several occasions at greats spots. I think there are apps were you can find good boondock locations. You will need a generator because of the limited services at the National Park and State Park campgrounds. The private campgrounds provide more services, but they start to open in May and in our opinion the campsites of National Park and State Park are better (because of the locations in nature). We used the WikiCamps USA (and Canada) App to plan our trip. We travelled all over the world, but the Alaska / Yukon trip was the best of all of them. So enjoy!

what’s the best option when the fuel lines become frozen? Wait it out until they defrost? Thanks, Joel
@brtb3
@brtb3 6 лет назад
Joel Tolli, we called the rental company (Fraserway RV) and they send a mechanic who put defroster in the gas tank. After a hour we could drive again. Afterwards we heard it is better not to rent a diesel in these conditions, but regular fuel, because diesel freezes faster then regular fuel.

bart, thank you so much for your reply! I loved your video, I’m thinking of travelling over to Canada to do a road trip much like this one, I’m from Australia! Would it be okay if I asked you some questions about your travels?

Great video guys! We are heading up to Alaska 2017 and would like your input. We are debating on whether a truck camper or class c motorhome would be better to purchase. Tell how truck camper did for you and would a class c done as good. Or do you feel you could not have done what you did in class c? Thanks in advance for any help! Aaron

Hi Aaron, we have rented a C class before but liked the Truck Camper better. Inside the bed is way more comfortable (size, reachable etc). More then enough space for two persons and the same options als the C class. Also if you are going to drive 'offroad' on The Top of the World Highway and/or Dempster Highway the truck camper is a better choice. We already booked our next trip with the Truck Camper. We have seen a lot of the world already, but Alaska/Yukon was by far the best vacation we ever had! Good luck with the planning of the trip and have fun next year! Bart

Hello Sane, we mostly stayed at state or national parks campgrounds. The views are the best at these campgrounds. Once in a while we stayed at a campground with more facilities to empty and fill up the tanks. Or a campground in a village. There were no bugs in May last year and the trip lasted 23 days. I can really recommend Admiralty Island, the Dempster Highway, Tombstone Territorial Park (at the Dempster), a flight seeing tour at Glacier Bay National Park and the other Nationals Park on the route. We have seen places all over the world and this was the best trip by far! Have fun and enjoy! Bart
