It's great to hear the actual voices as they sounded to the audience at the time. I've seen this video with the voices manipulated to sound better, but I like the genuine, real version here.
Can u imagine hearing this music at a house party live, mid 70’s California when these guys were hanging out together?! It really happened and I wish I was there-
The fact that Cetera who wrote this song got Kath to sing the verses because he felt it was too low for his own voice, shows Cetera was a team player and no he was not egotistical because he co-sang on many Chicago songs during his tenure with the band.
Definitely Al Jardine on the left. Carl and Dennis Wilson were also on the studio version. It looks like Mike Love on the right but the beards make it tough to be sure. I believe it's Carl in the middle if you look at other photos from ~1974.
I remember watching this live one New Year's Eve concert. It was pretty classy for both groups. I attended a software developers conference in Atalanta. They rented a theater, bused everyone there, and kept the entertainment a surprise, well out walked Chicago. Robert Lamm walked to the mic and said, welcome. So you guys write any music software?
Mr,peter cetera' had thats cred voicalist, thats yrs, 1974s i was a teenagers, aged 18-19 - yrs, old i listened too these songs, becuz... i did the depressions😊😢 just ease and lower its. too i'm moods,.
Mr Kath you were in my life in the 70s and you are still in my life as I get older you are and always will be a legend I forgive your mistake you would have been the best Damn it GOD Bless you I miss you
This is the kind of song where you wake up at 3am with your heart pounding and you KNOW you have to find an instrument and write down what’s in your heart and mind. Robert Lamm was so underrated…. This is a classic of classics. The Beach Boys vocals, and the story behind it reminds me of how the music “business” used to be…..
I love this version of the song with all singing together. The song reminds me of my children who live in different states away from me. Love and miss you Jessie & Will!
