I had almost forgotten this piece exists. I played it my senior year of high school (2008) and have such fond memories of both the song and my accompanist. Thanks for the nostalgia and your lovely playing.
so im playing this for my senior recital this year and its funny how you point out those A naturals as ive missed them more then i should admit haha but excellent tips i got the piece up to tempo and am feeling really good about it so far Also to comment on the position thing, atleast for me i feel that the positions like 2nd and 5th are a bit tricky to get exact as from our perspect from behind the horn is quite different from someone watching us play. so whenever i am practicing cleaning my technique on a piece that im still practicing i normally record my run throughs and focus on my slide to make sure im nailing each position. odd to do when your a more advanced player like me but i still make silly mistakes every now and then. as weird as it is to think about where my slide is at times when its all muscle memory love from sweden
I know I'm like 3 years late but I'm audtioning for my top band for this peice on baritone thank you so much for this! It is really helping me(my audition in due next week so I'll have to listen to this on loop for hours)
I’m in 7th grade and my band teacher made me play a solo with a piano and gave me a book to find a song to play and in the book I found the perfect solo for me 😄
Using this for the Solo and Ensemble Festival as well as State Sólo and Ensemble. Your performance is helping me a lot and I only got the piece on paper today after having spring break to look at it and listen to it virtually. Any small tips you have for this piece?
My music says quarter note = 112, but you seem to be playing it much faster - What tempo should I try for? drive.google.com/drive/folders/10gKmn2k9B6iCOecijVjCza-cqLfe
