Thank you for this video. I had to replace my cable as well and this video was very helpful in figuring it out. A couple of points to add: there is another T25 screw on the outside door handle, after wiggling the handle off the door you’ll see it. Also, the cable connection to that handle is tucked inside however there is a small track for it to pull out on for you to unplug it from the door. I was able to get a needle nose in there to gently pull it out to unplug it. Thanks again for the post Kevin.
Hi I'm having a similar problem, I replaced my cv joints think that would fix it since they were worn out but I saw your video and its the same exact sound I'm having with my 1998 volvo. Are these prop shafts easy to replace?
Thank you for this. I came to this conclusion with my 07 XC70 2.5T AWD, and this confirms it for me. I ended up replacing my front CVs thinking that was the issue, though sadly not. New propshaft on IPD is only $500 right now though!
Once the prop shaft was off the vehicle it was difficult to tell which joint (or joints) were the problem. I did not open them up. I simply replaced the entire shaft. Sorry I can’t answer that.
