The title of this song is taken from a chapter in a book called The Divided Self by R.D. Laing. The chapter tells the sad story of a real girl who had hebephrenic schizophrenia. She was called Julie.
Hard to believe its been over a decade since this set came out. This performance has helped to get me through some rough times- and I always find myself coming back to it. Sometimes I forget about it for a month, sometimes a year, but no matter what, it always makes it's way back to me.
@@sauertrout456 no it's really in 6/8 with an occasional 4/4 to make it stretch...each part of a guitar phrase is measures of 6/8, but midway through it's becomes a measure of 9/8. Adam always plays the down beat of the '1' so you know when it comes back around through a cycle. listen ago in the first part...that right hand 'snare' is on the 1, 4 and 6. later when it's 9/8 he hits the 1 and 4 every time and alternates with a 1-4-5-6 or 1-4-7 for timekeeping and emphasis.
Kimya's songs and voice just make me stop whatever I'm doing, and just sit, be, think, ponder and be thankful for everyone and everything I have and have had. There's an honesty to it all that my heart and soul has no option but to relate to.
