The MPC Live 2 saved me a ton of money. Making beats replaces video games for me. I've saved thousands of dollars over the last couple of years by making beats instead of buying new games. Finishing a track is way more satisfying than beating that hard-ass boss I just spent 3 hours trying to beat. 💯
@@TwinCitiesOxygen Sorry, LinnStrument doesn’t offer a piano pitch arrangement. However, the Osmose, Seaboard, and K-Board Pro are good instruments for people who prefer the traditional piano pitch arrangement.
@@TwinCitiesOxygen There are some recommendations on my site’s Recommended Sounds page, but it’s out of date. You can find some updated info on this topic by searching the LinnStrument forum on KVR. One problem is that few LinnStrument players use iPad because its sounds are still not as good as on Mac or Windows.

I remember back in the day 1994 or so, I spoke with Roger on the phone, I was trippin at first when he answered the phone saying “This is Roger, how may I help you?” I was like heck no this ain’t Roger and he said” Okay I’ll hang up then” it was really him. I said “wait wait wait, this is really Roger?”He said yes. We spoke for 10 minutes or so about him selling chips for the MPC 60 turning the OS into an MPC 3000, I bought like 2 or 4 ram chips, installed them, turn the machine on and BAM it worked…my screen on the MPC60 was upgraded to the MPC 3000 OS system options, screen, look and feel. Before AI, I couldn't make music, and it wasn't cause I didn't lack the skills, it was because I couldn't determine how to transition between parts or organize the blocks of the song. IF you look at the interface for UDIO, you will realize that even without the AI, it was an interface designed for making music.
The thing I hate about music production tools is the stupid tape analogy.. It only appeals to msuicians, its from the "why simplify music production by augmenting the the process , as it may cause the professional to stop being a professional.. I mean, how can I make a song by breaking the pieces of the song out like index cards and swap them around, why must I use enumerated label selectors. USing form elements does make it easy when you need to validate the mode of an interface, for the sake of be ready for the gig. But you can do the same by loading a tool that verifies everything is in the correct mode for the performance. Well with addition of AI, this has been made easier.. I currently have 115 songs, created through UDIO, and I'm now dealing with a feature that called remix that forces the AI to reinterpret a loaded mp3.. It can only see 2 minutes, but that is enough to create a self contained song. But now the push is to find source material to inspire the AI to generate particular styles and arrangements..
The reason I like the iPads is that they are designed to substitute for self contained, dedicated and latency free environments. But they need to have a button that lets you turn off the multitasking.. The original iPad had very little multitasking ability.. Then cause androids had it, Apple was pressured to make it more multifacted.. For music production, you really don't want multitasking if you can help it..
Hello, afetr watching a lot of videos about surge i decided to install it so i went on the official site and then dowbloaded it. When i started install i got a security alert from windows 10 pro about it and so decided to abort install. Is there a risk for my computer and had you already eard about this issue ?
Sorry, I don’t know how to contact and such support for Surge, given that it’s free and open source. Perhaps their web site offers such information. There’s probably a forum.
What a cool dude. Pretty humble considering he's as key to hip-hop as about any artist. I'd be curious what he thinks of the sound quality vs a 3000 or 60. Some ppl deal w/ the outdated units because they believe the actual sound is worth it. Dr Dre is 1 of those ppl. Does R.L. see a sound difference?
@@BIGLARRY100 Thank you for your kind compliment. From an engineering view, the current technology of 16+ bits, higher sampling rates, less distortion, and more accurate digital to analog converters is far superior to the old 12 bits of the 60 or the less accurate 16 bit converters of the 3000. But there were many great recordings made with those old instruments, and people tend to value the sound of the old machines that were used to make those recordings, even though the audio quality was poorer. I’m a guitar player and no guitar player would ever buy a guitar amp with full frequency response and no distortion. Having said that, I can also say that if you use a current MPC to sample the output of an MPC60, the higher audio quality of the current MPC will faithfully reproduce all of the 60’s distortion and poor frequency response. It’s all just sound, and beauty is in the ear of the beholder. :)

This video alone, is worth more than any marketing expense that AKAI could muster-up for sure. I konw this because I had worked for a big Japanese electronics company, who had refused to take my advise by not letting a person in a similar position as Roger, do what he did here.

I wish the screen was able to be not just flipped up but also stood up higher so you can see the screen without craning your neck downward. Something closer to what I get with a PC setup, but standalone/portable with an MPC. Maybe make the screen wireless and give it a built in stand where the screen can popout of the MPC case and be attached to a stand.
