Jonas Gerard is an artist based in Asheville, North Carolina. With two large fine art galleries dedicated to his own work, Jonas is known for his "live painting performances," where he paints abstract paintings in front of an audience, always with music playing in the background, sometimes with live musicians.
"I usually begin a new painting with random brush strokes of color, then work unpredictably and intuitively, responding to the rhythm of the music and the direction the painting suggests to me. My most recent work is about the thrill of exploring and experimenting with a variety of methods of applying acrylic color on raw canvas, taking big risks and looking for new combinations that I've never done before. What excites my interest is -- to see what would happen if..."
This video and his interview from the festival in the Hamptons really show his spirit and enthusiasm and his love for art. Many people don't know that Jonas was educated as an engineer. But he made more money selling his paintings on the streets (which is impressive, because engineers are paid well!) than he did as an engineer so he pursued art as his vocation.
Wow! This one is amazing. Indeed, you are too good at showing the different aspects of art which would be beneficial for everyone. Thanks for sharing this amazing piece of art. Even I am a self-taught artist and have uploaded a few videos on art demonstration. Do check it out if you are free. Thanks in advance.
Algunas obras son muy bellas y otras Estan bien .. pero sus obras son muy similares entre si...muchos artistas caen en lo mismo se encasillan en un estilo de pintura ..hay muchos estilos como para siempre hacer lo mismo
Wow! From the comments I learned that you live and create these masterpieces in Asheville, and I live nearby. This means that I have a chance to see you, and at least for a little bit become your assistant and get your precious experience.
Your student is very lucky. She is already dancing like you, and in the near future she will paint as beautifully as you. Thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge. Be healthy, take care of yourself and please us!
