Interesting filming in the dark ! the lads look to be well organized with some decent lights on the roller and head torches . Thanks for sharing the journey, I know it's very time consuming.

The chimney was removed when mechanical work started a while back, and due to the nature of this short trip not being done under its own steam, it was deemed unnecessary to refit the chimney.
The mechanical work that is needed means that it isn't wise to steam it and move it under its own power. It also hasn't had a steam test in the past few years that would warrant it safe to be steamed.
Well that’s something you don’t see every day!! Thought it may be failed test of an alternative fuel for a minute. Yes nice to see her out on the roads!👌
Wow! Fantastic stuff! We haven't been able to see road stream for many years since we moved to France, but this brings back so many memories of rallies in Cornwall - and yes, we do recognise some of the engines form 30 odd years ago! A great job filming a super event. Shame about the typical Cornish weather! 🙄 Congrats to you and to the owners who bring the engines to this and other events.👏

I always enjoy watching your videos. A long time since we were in Cornwall, but I still remember the places, and the names on the engine signboards! I thought the whole "Whale" set looked superb, but I bet it was a bit of a challenge around Cambourne!😀 Look forward to your Trevithick Day footage, if you have any.👍
Always a good watch to see engines out on the road Keiran. Long may that continue!! It’s great to see more of the”whale” nowadays, there is a photo of her I took in the 50 Golden years book, way back in 1984 in her final stages of restoration. And the trailers and living van are very impressive! Good video 👍
The road closure of Sandy Lane in Redruth aided in the scenic route aspect around St. Day. Was nice to finally see an engine traverse Tolgullow Hill, though. I've seen a few engines go up Lanner Hill in the past, and it always delivers in making engines sound great. It's the long, steady uphill that seems to go on forever that really helps.
Well Sandy lane being closed did make for a more dramatic video then!. Remember watching Janet and king Harry hauling granite up the hill hear at mabe, that was good run. Think you filmed it at the time. It was to commemorate freeman and McLeod engines. They had 6 over the years, two fowlers a b4 epsilon and a b5. Zeta There last engine burrel “old sophie” real name her majesty was left derelict in Carnsew quarry for many years!
Most certainly all tested and ready for Trevithick Day and various other events throughout the summer. Here's hoping the weather is good for the festivities. Nothing worse than photographing/videoing steam engines in the pouring down rain.
Unfortunately, not. That weekend clashes with one of the bigger events (Boconnoc Steam Fair) down here in Cornwall, and that's where I shall be that weekend. Definitely worth a visit!
0:38, can you please explain why this piece of road infrastructure exists? As a kiwi, I never seen something so retarded and fail to understand it's purpose. Like why make a road go from 2 lanes to 1 and then back to 2 in a space of 10 metres!
These sorts of chicanes are very common here in the UK. They're a type of traffic calming. In this case, it gives priority to the traffic leaving the village and also acts as a means of forcing the incoming traffic to slow down as the road changes from a higher to lower legal driving limit. Even if the change of speed is a mere 10mph.
